In addition to crafting Mochi and Wagashi, we will delve into the history of Mochi and explore various ways to enjoy it.
In this lesson, participants will learn how to make mochi using glutinous rice flour. With the mochi, you will create strawberry Daifuku (using Pineapple or Kiwi when strawberries are out of season), and Dango (mochi balls on skewers), along with two types of “Nerikiri wagashi”—traditional Japanese sweets. The motifs will vary according to the season.
You will learn to shape the dough into a seasonal motif. The dough is pre-made and colored, but you will have access to a tutorial video.
After the lesson, you can savor your creations with a bowl of matcha green tea, prepared with guidance, or take them home in a special box.
