A fulfilling trek leads through a bushy path to the top of Mount Alma, a 736ft elevation that commands over Trellis Bay and Bluff Bay on Beef Island. It’s recognized as one of the supreme panoramic sights in the British Virgin Islands. Historically, a water source flowed from the mountain, and parts of it were used for grazing livestock. These days, its common visitors are technicians who service an airport navigation light at its peak, along with occasional explorers like ourselves. The path was obliterated by Hurricane Irma in 2017, littered with fallen trees and swallowed by land slides. However, in 2020 our trio managed to restore and forge a new ascent right to the summit! This secret masterpiece can now be relished by all!
