Ait Ben Haddou - After crossing the impressive High Atlas Mountains, you’ll reach the fortified and beautiful Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has been the setting for many famous films. A local guide will lead a tour of the Kasbah, and you can choose to have a delicious lunch there or in the nearby city of Ouarzazate.
Dades Gorges - Continuing the journey, you’ll travel along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” and the scenic Valley of Roses. The highlight will be an overnight stay in a traditional guesthouse, hosted by local Berbers in the stunning Dades Gorge (Valley). This offers a chance to fully immerse in the local culture and experience the warmth of Berber hospitality.
DADES GORGES - TODRA GORGE - MERZOUGA DUNES
Todgha Gorge - After a delightful breakfast, the road leads to Todgha Gorges, passing through various villages. In Tinghir, a guide will meet you for a walk through the lush palm groves. Then, a walk at Todra Gorges will leave you amazed by this natural marvel, a renowned spot for rock climbing enthusiasts. You’ll also have the chance to see traditional nomad families who still live on the mountain tops, coming down to collect water.
Merzouga Desert - The tour continues to Erg Chebbi, the vast Sahara Desert. You’ll pass through several Berber villages, including Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud, the gateway to the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. After a brief stop in Merzouga, you’ll embark on a camel ride, crossing the expansive dunes of Merzouga for over an hour to witness the breathtaking sunset. The night will be spent in a traditional Berber camp, under the stars, with the soothing sounds of drums and Berber singing. This is an opportunity to connect with nomads and learn about their lifestyle, while also picking up a few Berber songs.
BACK TO MARRAKECH
High Atlas Mountains - The return journey will take you back through the Atlas Mountains, arriving in the lively city of Marrakech by evening.
