Tamadout - Kasbah Tamadot was once the residence of Luciano Tempo, a distinguished antiques dealer and interior designer. Luciano adorned Kasbah Tamadot with an extensive collection of items, including tables, sculptures, and ornaments sourced from India, Indonesia, and North Africa. When Sir Richard Branson acquired Kasbah Tamadot in 1998, he also took ownership of Luciano’s 1000 square meter warehouse, overflowing with these treasures. As visitors explore, they will notice pieces from Luciano’s collection that continue to embellish the Kasbah today.
Sir Richard Branson discovered Kasbah Tamadot during a visit to Morocco, where he aimed to circumnavigate the globe in a hot air balloon. It was actually his parents, Ted and Eve Branson, who found the enchanting Kasbah and envisioned transforming it into a splendid Moroccan retreat. Although Richard did not complete his hot air balloon journey, he did purchase the magnificent Kasbah, and his parents’ dream was realized when Kasbah Tamadot welcomed its first hotel guests in 2005. -
Imlil - Departing from Marrakech at 9:00, Imlil is located just 70 kilometers away and serves as the final stop before ascending Jbel Toubkal and the starting point for many hikes. After passing through the Asni gorges, a charming village known for its Saturday souk, the road continues through a lush valley where the mountains, impressive natural fortresses, display a play of colors. The journey proceeds past the beautiful village of Asni to reach the Imlil valley. Upon arrival in Imlil, guests will meet their guide and embark on a guided walking and hiking tour to reach the Kasbah of Toubkal, which has been restored and transformed into a rustic yet comfortable hotel. Lunch will be served on a rooftop in Imlil, offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. After lunch, there is an opportunity to relax and unwind.
A personal guide will introduce visitors to the region, providing a 2-hour walking and hiking experience in the Imlil valleys to explore the local culture, nature, and the Berber village, as well as its inhabitants. Following lunch and a refreshing mint tea on site, the return to Marrakech will be at the end of the day.
