Excellent experience - Excellent day. We were worried we might not be up for the ride in the heat, but the pace was gentle with plenty of stops (and we’ll definitely be sleeping well tonight ). Thong was very insightful, an open book enthusiastically sharing his broad knowledge of the country, industry, religion, history and food. And just a lovely warm and fine human who we genuinely enjoyed chatting with throughout the day. We’d love to tour with him again in future, highly recommended.

Great Day! - Thong was an amazing guide. So nice and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Cambodian history and saw so many interesting things. Be prepared! It is 25 miles of riding but you see so much. Stops for snacks and a great lunch. Great day out of the city!

Great experience - Very good experience through the Cambodian villages far from the hustle and bustle of the city. This gives an idea of the way of life in Cambodian villages. The locals are very welcoming. Thong is very friendly and gives us a lot of information and explanations. Bring something to protect yourself from the sun and everything will be fine!

Highly recommended off the beaten track ! - I went with the English speaking guide Pis, who provided me a true adventure. First we took the ferry to leave Phnom Penh for Mekong island that offered stunning pagodas. Then back to the mainland into rural landscapes and remote villages. For hours I was the only non-Camodian which was noticed by hundred’s of kids welcoming me in their habitat. After a visit to a local silver craft shop and a Cambodian lunch we arrived at the old capital Oudong that offered countless temples, amazing views, a food market and monkey ‘s ! It was worth every penny, thanks Pis !

Experience that gives a window on genuine Cambodian life - Thong is the most genuine, friendly and considerate guide that I have ever met. He went out of his way to share details on any wildlife that we encountered (he is an avid bird watcher), and stopped to speak with residents at notable sites along the route we took, so that we could hear more about local life (people really respond to his friendliness and openness). We went out on the hottest day in Phnom Penh this year, and yet Thong did his best to make sure that we biked the shadiest route possible and that we stayed hydrated and cooled off at each stop. He took time to share details on Cambodia's history and culture, both historical challenges as well as bright spots, including sharing his family's/his personal experiences. He even invited me to join his family in doing an extra temple hike at the end of the day, where his wife and three children were excellent guides as well! I would happily join another of Thong's self-designed tours on my next trip to Phnom Penh, as he's always coming up with new ideas with an emphasis on eco-tourism and experiences that give a window on genuine Cambodian life.

Challenging but real fun! - The cycling trip was way above my expectations! We cycled for almost 38km in 4 hours from 8.30am - definitely a record for myself! We had brief stops along the way, but i was way behind the rest and missed all the interesting stories and information Thong gave. Wished to have more stops to take photos but i was afraid i was too much behind and needed to catch up. It was not easy to cycle this much this far, many parts of the roads were uneven, stoney and bumpy. Perhaps can start earlier - as it got really hot and sunny late morning and made it even more challenging to cycle. Rather challenging for me as a whole, but I am glad i did it - gave me quite a sense of achievement :) Thong was really great, super friendly and good knowledge of the places and oudong. He could give very good backgrounds, history and stories of the places and Cambodia. Really knowledgeable. His personal stories of growth, learning and success are very inspiring too! I'd recommend this tour - go slow, at your pace, enjoy the rides and the journey.

See the Real Cambodia with Thong - Wow! A breathtaking cycling tour with Thong. We cycled through amazing, tourist free, villages and we were able to get a true sense of life in rural Cambodia. Our lunch stop was at a place frequented by Cambodians. Thong provided us an opportunity to experience Cambodian life. The cycling, which may put some people off, was very doable. Thong was mindful of our abilities and pace. He caters to the cyclists’ abilities. The short hike on Oudong Mountain was icing on the cake. It is a place where Cambodians spend their weekends. The Buddhist temple, and being able to participate in face washing ritual was amazing. An unforgettable day!

Cambodia in a nutshell - Overall a great experience! Pickup at our hotel was punctual at 7.30am and although the guide is a young man (Piseh), he proved to be patient, friendly n speaks pretty good English. All along our almost 40km route, he pointed out interesting facts about the landscape & Cambodian culture. The bikes are Cannondales, very comfortable & most suited for off road. With 29" wheels, it made our journey a wheeze. We brought our own mobile phone holders so had no problem recording & viewing our route. Mr Thong, the owner, did mention that he is going to obtain some so future riders may want to enquire if you need to bring your own. The ride ended (not the tour though) with a much welcomed Cambodian lunch at a restaurant. After that, Mr Thong brought us in his SUV to the Oudang Mtn which houses remains of the Cambodian King n family. It's a pretty taxing (after a long ride) walk up but do-able, just take a breather now n then. The temples & stupas up there is really worth the effort. Magnificent. Then we walked down the other side of the mountain to where the SUV was waiting, dropping us at our hotel. Couldn't ask for more from a superb day's outing. Highly recommend to folks who want to see the real Cambodia safely n unhurriedly.
