Beautiful day on the Swartberg pas - We booked the Swartberg pas tour through our tour operator as part of a package deal so we didn’t know what to expect when we were picked up at our hotel in the morning. We ended up having a wonderful day. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the mountains and showed us picturesque towns and views, took some great pictures, drove safely and was an overall great companion. He literally went the extra mile at the end of the tour and made a detour to show us giraffes. He also had some great tips for our trip going forward towards Robertson such as feeding giraffes in Oudtshoorn, a lunch stop in Barrydale and blending your own wine in Robertson that we all did the next day. Overall we would strongly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!

Can't wait to go again - We had the absolute pleasure of a weekend in Oudtshoorn, and we can't wait to go back! On the Saturday we did the Swartberg Pass Tour, which was incredible – the tour guide was knowledgeable and funny, and views were breathtaking. Afterwards we had lunch at Kobus se Gat where the food was great and the staff felt like family.

Disappointing if you expect a hike - Please be aware that this tour is more for people that are doing round trips in a bus. The hike is just a walk down the main road (without a guide). Yes, the view is still amazing but if you expect a real hike (off the road) where someone explains flora and fauna, you will be disappointed. The food at the end was good, freshly made and plenty. The tour guide was nice and understanding. This is a tour for older folks or people who like a view without any fitness challenge and wear open sandals.
