The Berber weekly market, a lifeline for those living in far-flung villages, is another experience to treasure. Most attendees travel to the market on donkeys and mules, usually laden with locally-sourced goods like vegetables, chicken, or even goats.
The market also serves as a hub for various other life necessities – from consulting healers and visiting barbers to procuring official documents, meeting judges, or simply conversing with friends over a cup of mint tea. The Ourika day trip is a must-have experience for every tourist eager to take a nostalgic journey back through time, and witness the Berbers in their most original form.
