Ourika valley - We had an amazing day with spectacular landscapes. We had the chance to know more about the local culture (culinary, artistic, people). It would have not been possible with the help of Mohammad who was our tour guide. He was such an amazing human being and had a lot of knowledge about the history of the city. He was always helpful ans thoughtful. Also, the driver, Sameer, who drove us everywhere really safely. We won't forget about this day thanks to them. We fully recommand you to book with them (Click Excursions). THANK YOU MOHAMMED

AWESOME - That was too cool ! So exotic! Both the ride and the people we met! Jawad the driver was super nice and funny, we didn't notice the time passing during the trips. Abdou, the guide, was incredibly kind and really immersed us in the heart of the village. I SINCERELY RECOMMEND

Brilliant! Must do! - What a brilliant experience! We were picked up bang on time by our driver and taken in his air conditioned vehicle to the Ourika Valley. The drive was around 90 minutes but it was broken up by a few photo stops and a stop at the Argan Collective. There was no pressure to buy anything but the products were lovely. We then stopped at a Berber home for mint tea and a tour - again they were selling home made jewellery, which we purchased, but we didn’t feel pressured to. Once we reached the Ourika Valley, we were taken by a local guide on a 2 hour hike to the Setti Fatma waterfalls - this was an additional 40MAD per person (around £3.50) but we had such a wonderful guide that we paid double. The hike is fairly steep and we saw people in unsuitable footwear really struggling - wear trainers! We then went for lunch, which wasn’t included in the price but was part of the itinerary. The only choice was a 3 course set menu for 120MAD per person - the food was ok but I would have preferred to have the option for just something small. We didn’t know it was a set menu until we were sat down. All in all, a wonderful day with no pressure, great views and two really friendly, lovely guides.

day trip to ourika valley - Desert Family Tour organized a tour for us to the atlas mountains and it was a highlight of our short stay in Morocco. Lahcen was quick to respond and answered all our questions. The tour was confirmed withing the hour. The trip itself was fantastic, the scenery, the weekly market, the mule ride and lunch were all interesting and satisfactory. We highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a good experience and no forced shopping or hidden costs. Thank you Desert Family team

Unorganised and unauthentic - This trip was very chaotic and unorganised. We were picked up on time but found two other travellers picked up by the wrong car - they wanted to go on a camel ride only but were convinced to join us on the Atlas mountains visit and then go to Agafay for the ride afterwards. They were then asked for more money for this, despite it being a mistake of the tour company. It was hard not to feel bad for them. The trip itself had good and bad. First we visited a berber house, which felt like a tourist attraction rather than an authentic look at a family home. Then we were taken to an argan oil exhibit and shop, where we were given a hard sell on products. A warning to others - the one item I considered purchasing was double the price here than in the medina (and the medina isn't cheap!). We then made our way up to Setti Fadma, the furthest village, where we hiked a little and then had lunch by the water. It was such a beautiful place and I'm glad we went in the end, just to see this place and enjoy the cooler weather. However, when we sat down for lunch we were not given a menu or options but told by the guide that he had ordered two tagines and already paid. Great... until he asked for 50 dirham each for lunch afterwards (which is way more than he would have paid for 2 tagines and some drinks, as there was 4 of us in total). Overall it felt unorganised and gimacky. And to top it off, the guide insisted my brother write a review there infront of him - so beware of all the positive reviews.
