Up into the Atlas to spot waterfalls - The whole trip worked really well for my husband and me. Our driver, Yousef (apologies if spelling is incorrect), collected us at our riad in the medina and took us to his car, which was very clean and comfortable. He told us a bit about Morocco, the Ourika valley and its agriculture, and explained about his experience of earthquake last year, the evidence of which was still clearly around us as we drove further into the Atlas. Our stop at the Women's Cooperative was very informative on argan oil, its production and uses, and we spent rather more than we had intended on their excellent products! The Ourika valley is stunning and we took far too many pictures: Yousef was happy to stop whenever we wanted to take yet more photos. At Setti Fatma, Yousef made sure we were on the right path up to the waterfalls before leaving us with his WhatsApp details so we could get back in touch when we wanted to return to Marrakesh. There are a lot of stalls on either side of the footpath going quite a lot of the way to the first waterfall, where there is a cafe. It was fairly busy - we would recommend going in the morning as it became much busier later. Fewer people then took the rougher path up to the other waterfalls and cascades. The waterfalls were very impressive and well worth the walk and slight scramble to get to them, and you get different views coming and going as you walk up one side of the valley and down the other. We had lunch in Setti Fatma in a cafe overlooking the river on returning from our walk and watched women washing rugs in the river before contacting Yousef for our return trip. We'd definitely recommend this trip. It's a full day, and you get to see the country outside Marrakesh. Yousef was very helpful and it all went very smoothly. Thank you Yousef and Uncommon Morocco!

Visiting the Ourika Valley to discover the Berber lifestyle - Very nice excursion, and special mention to our guide ! we got to know a lot about the Berbers and he told us a lot about the culture and his life with great enthusiasm. The views were magical and so fun to walk through the Berber villages and see their lives. We also appreciated the punctuality, despite having made the reservation at the last minute. The mini van used comfortable and safe. Good footwear is recommended for the hike Highly recommended !!

Well worth the money - The trip takes you through the Berber villages and a guide will walk you up into the mountain ( Definitely bring good shoes ), then sit by the river for lunch. The highlight was the "real" berber house where we enjoyed a cup of moroccan tea and got some important information about the berber primitive lifestyle (antique and old ustensils and machines..). There is no entrance fees but people there live with donation ! So be generous with them.

Very beautiful day, many sights linked to the local population. Beautiful nature and pleasant private transport - Beautiful experience, we made a stop halfway through the trip and visited a Berber family, visited a women's cooperative with care products and a wool/carpet weaving mill. Then we went to the waterfalls and walked up with a guide.
