Engage in the traditional pottery of the Rif Mountains with a four-day workshop guided by local artisan, Zhour.
Day 1: Stroll from Hicham’s homestay through pine forests and olive groves to meet Zhour. Accompanied by her donkey, participants will gather clay and gravel, then explore hand-modeling techniques using two rotating discs.
Day 2: Return to the workshop to burnish the pots with a small limestone, smoothing the surface and refining the shape.
Day 3: Dye and decorate the pots with natural pigments and a goat-hair brush, then fire them on a bed of pine needles, firewood, and natural fuel.
Day 4: After breakfast, collect the finished pottery—your own handcrafted mementos from this extraordinary experience.
