Lucky enough to see the whales 🐋 - The trip is very educational and we were lucky got chance seeing 4 out 5 sea animals. People are nice at Dyer Island Cruises, our driver is very nice too. Only one thing you need to be aware is the pick up time from the hotel is over 3 hrs before boat departure time 9 am listed on the web. All of us were picked up before 5:30 am in different hotels. Whale watching - Amazing trip. Collected from Cape Town, stopped half way at a lovely coffee shop for a much needed pit stop and caffeine infusion. When we arrived we were advised that the sea was quite rough. We decided to carry on and the team looked after us amazingly well providing hot water bottles when people got cold and pointing out whales, birds, sunfish and seals.

Marine big 5 out of Capetown - An amazing experience! I would highly recommend this adventure. The company is extremely professional & knowledgeable. The light breakfast was perfect before heading out into the ocean & the soup afterwards was delicious. We saw all big 5 marine with humpback whales breaching right next to our boat. It was a beautiful sight. The van driver was so nice & safe also. Highly recommend

Amazing tour - My husband and I went on a Marine Big 5 tour in May, and I highly recommend this operator. Marine biologists onboard and the crew are extremely knowledgeable, and the fact that profits go into maintaining the research efforts and conservation, made the experience extra special. Keep in mind, that while the crew does the absolute most to spot the animals, whales/ dolphins are not guaranteed and it really depends on the day how much or how little you'd see. I'd say that seeing the Seal island alone was 100% worth the trip, if you've never seen a seal colony you'd be impressed. We got lucky and had a whale sighting even though we went a little bit off season. It is about 2-2,5h drive from Cape town, however, it's pretty scenic so it didn't feel daunting. Overall, it was a great trip!

Take the trip! - Super good and exciting experience. We got to see all the Big five, even though it wasn't the season for whales, but the fantastic crew still found one, out in deeper water. Fantastic treatment and help when you get seasick or have questions or need to identify the animals. Can definitely be recommended!

Marine Big 5 tour - - It was very well organized and even provided a weathercoat/raincoat which was very welcomed. - Fairly crowded on the boat. It wasn´t horrible but it was sometimes uncomfortable when suddenly a bunch of individuals crowded over to watch. That said, the crew did their best to distribute us. - We spent a third of the time chasing a bryde whale and once we managed to get a good view of it, we continue chasing it for a bit longer. On the one hand, not sure the whale would be very happy being chased non-stop. On the other hand, I reckon once we had the clear view we could´ve continued the trip trying to find new sea creatures. - The guide provided many interesting facts and the crew was nice and knowledgeable.

Long drive for OK experience - Let me start by saying it was a THREE hour drive from Capetown. The pick up was prompt and the van comfortable but it was a THREE hour drive from CapeTown. They offered muffins and coffee on arrival and pasta/cheese and salad for lunch. Staff was friendly and it was handled efficiently once we were there. Spent TWO hours on boat and saw penguins, many seabirds, seals, and several sharks that were chummed to the surface for shark cage boat while we looked on. Saw one hammer head shark off on her own near surface. We saw one whale in February- off season for them. No dolphins. Naturalist seemed knowledgeable but hard to hear. So OK trip but did I mention it was SIX hours in van? May have done it anyway but would be nice to be aware ahead of time
