Nairobi to Longonot Mountain

Mount Longonot National Park - 6:00am:- Nairobi- Great African Rift Valley

Depart Nairobi for Mt Longonot National Park, passing through the lush green highlands of Kikuyu and then along the eastern escarpment of the Rift Valley.
6:30am: – Great Rift Valley View Point
Make a scheduled stop at the viewpoint on the escarpment to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Rift Valley floor. From this high vantage point, you can see the volcanic Mt Suswa and Mt Longonot with their evergreen craters.

7:00am: – Mt Longonot National Park

Descend into the Rift Valley and arrive at Mt Longonot National Park for your hike up to the crater. The hike requires moderate physical fitness and involves climbing through the gullies that dot the mountain’s sides. You can take rest stops at designated points along the trek. Upon reaching the crater rim, you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the crater below. If you have the energy, you can hike around the crater rim.

Lake Naivasha - 12:00pm: – Mt. Longonot –Lake Naivasha

Descend from Longonot Mountain to the park headquarters. Relax for a while before driving to Lake Naivasha.

1:00pm: – Lunch at Kifaru Restaurant

Arrive at Kifaru Restaurant and enjoy a delicious lunch.

2:30pm: – Boat Ride in Lake Naivasha

Take an hour-long boat ride on this beautiful Rift Valley lake. The ride offers the chance to see hundreds of birds, including the African fish eagle, which dives into the water to catch fish with remarkable precision. You’ll also visit the hippo pool to observe hippos swimming and vocalizing, often opening their mouths to over 180 degrees.

Tour to Hell’s Gate

Hell’s Gate National Park - Have breakfast and prepare to leave the hotel at 8 am for Hell’s Gate with a picnic lunch.

Arrive at Hell’s Gate around 8:30 am. Begin a two-hour biking tour of the park.

11am – Visit the gorges inside the park. These are narrow depressions in the land where you can walk beneath the surface. Some areas have formed caves that you can explore. This part of the tour takes about an hour.

1pm – Conclude the tours and return the bikes at the gate.

1pm – Enjoy a picnic lunch or dine at Kifaru Restaurant.

2pm – End all activities and start the drive back to Nairobi.
