Additional Information

Death camps a has become a symbol of World War II atrocities. Created by the Nazis in occupied Poland in 1940 near the town of “Oświęcim”. Immediately after the war ended camps were transformed into the museum, that was in 1947. Since then visitors can see the conditions in which people lived and literally feel the enormity of atrocities perpetrated upon them.
The current museum occupies an area of two extant parts of the former Nazi concentration camp – Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Together they hold an extensive area, where the prisoners’ barracks, the ruins of the crematoria and gas chambers, and the railway platform at Birkenau are located.

Very informative tour - Guide was very knowledgeable. Definitely worth taking the time to visit Auschwitz if you’ve never been and have the chance.

A well organized professional Tour. - Picked up on time by Jasiek in a beautiful Mercedes, and driven to Auschwitz. I was escorted to a group, and when I had finished I met Jasiek at a pre arranged spot and driven to Birkenau and joined the same group. When I had finished I was picked up within 5 minutes and driven back to hotel. The whole day was a very professional and well organized experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and thought Auschwitz Krakow tours was a very good company to do this tour with. Most thanks to Jasiek a very engaging and knowledgeable young man.

Would highly recommend - We had Simon as our driver to Auschwitz. He was great, went the extra mile and was informative throughout the journey, pointing out landmarks on the way and sharing his knowledge. He was kind enough to give me an umbrella for the tour, a stool to use while we waited and made our experience 10/10. Very easy, good communication by WhatsApp to changes to out pickup time and I would recommend 👌

Auschwitz-Birkenau - We were lucky enough to have a superb guide, Simon, who collected us from our hotel on time, gave us a wee tour of the city whilst doing other pick ups, and an informative interesting trip to Auschwitz. A minibus with just eight guests, it was comfortable and great bond with the other travellers. Simon helped us to the guided tour and then collected us and took to Birkenau, looking after us all the way. Auschwitz- Birkenau itself was a sobering experience, fascinating and a must see as hits far harder than any book or movie. I’d recommend it to all but be respectful of what’s gone before. Take comfy shoes, water and food. Can not recommend this tour company highly enough

Once in a lifetime experience - It was a brilliant day even though it was bittersweet due to the tragedy that happened here. However it was a once in a lifetime experience and we are glad we did it. We had a lovely driver which the company organised from our apartment and was so informative about any questions we had. Also the tour guide we had for both of the sites was incredible and very informative also.

Auschwitz - Birkenau Tour with Transportation. - Myself and my partner had booked with this company with 1 days notice due to sadly being let down by another booking made on Get Your Guide - I got a message at 4pm the day before we were due to go to say our Auschwitz-Birkenau trip was cancelled and will be getting a refund. We were not given a reason. We were already in Krakow at this point and were very much looking forward to it it trip so we were very disappointed and confused. We had to shuffle things around and change our days for the Salt Mines tour to free up a day for the new Auschwitz booking we just made with Get Your Guide FTH Berta. Luckily when we called up Get Your Guide - a lovely lady (Julia) changed the date of the Salt Mines Tour so we could still make Auschwitz just 1 day later. We received WhatsApp messages from Wiktoria from FTH Berta with the new arrangements for the Auschwitz - Birkenau Tour the following day. At first we didn’t have tickets she said so we would need to leave at 5:30/6am in the morning to line up in a queue for entry tickets. This confused us as we thought by booking ‘ Auschwitz -Birkenau Entry tickets and Transportation ‘ this would have been already sorted as that’s what it states on Get Your Guide. This is clearly NOT the case. To cut a long story short… Wiktoria messaged again to say there was no need to panic as she had just managed to get us tickets and we could be picked up for just after 11am the following day, there was no longer a need to leave early doors and wait in a queue. We were very pleased to hear this but again, a lot of stress leading up so we were a bit apprehensive. On the day - Myself and my partner were picked up on the agreed time by Dawid (our driver) with some others along the way. I think there must have been around 7 of us in a comfortable, clean and well air conditioned mini van. We got to Auschwitz-Birkenau later than planned due to traffic which couldn’t be helped but because of this we had to run into the museum and rush through security ready for our guide and group for 13:30. We had no time for a toilet break after a 2 hour journey to the museum. Our tour guide at Auschwitz was very good and she spoke clearly and the headsets were a great touch as I could hear all that our guide was saying. It is an extremely emotional and haunting place. I found it difficult to visit but I am so glad I did. I have learnt so much more since going and I understand in much greater detail. I feel it is important that everyone makes a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau at some point in their lives. After the tour was finished we got picked up by Dawid almost at the exact place we got dropped off, we had to wait around 20 mins in the mini van just until everyone was back and ready to set back off to Krakow and we got dropped off back at our apartment. All in all, a great experience. It was a bit rushed at times but it is a very busy place at this time of year. I’m just glad after all the stress, we finally got to go!!

Disorganised mess - This tour company is terrible. They are a third party who had not even pre-booked our tickets so I got a cancellation text the day before we were meant to go, meaning we had to rebook accommodation and onward travel - barely more than an apology and offered to take us the next day instead - which we did, because we had no choice as by that time every alternative was booked. Late departure, overbooked shuttle bus so we had to stand, lots of waiting around and we specifically asked if we could leave our bags somewhere and were told yes, on the shuttle will be fine, to then be told no as there was another tour company using the shuttle while we were in Auschwitz, so we had to carry our bags around the concentration camp! If I thought the company would give me any sort of refund I would ask for it for all the inconvenience. I had this booked months in advance - avoid using them at all costs. The Auschwitz museum tour guide herself was great and qualified but use another company or book direct.
