Learn More About Oxford Than You Might Expect! - Having traveled to dozens of countries and experienced many local tours, I can say that Jonathan Self gave the best tour I have ever had! His expertise, explanations, and even the unexpected comedic timing were superb! Book the tour and ask for Jonathan. You will be glad you did!

1:00pm Tour on May, 1 2025 - I've been wanting to go to Oxford for a long time, and finally got my chance. However, we were limited on time. We took a train from Bath where our lodging is. A 70 minute easy ride got us to Oxford, and a 15 minute walk got us to the tour's start at Trinity Gate. I had expected a tour that pointed at the highlights ... there's the Bridge of Sighs, there's King's College, etc. But our guide took us inside some of the walls of the colleges. We were in two chapels and one dining room. I've watched most of the "Endeavor" and "Inspector Lewis" shows that often take place in these venues and I was thrilled to see them up close. Our guide (if he gave his name, I was not able to hear it) was a wealth of knowledge. Again, if he gave us any information on his educational background I didn't hear it (I miss things because I slow up to take pictures and don't hear every word spoken), but it must have been extensive and he is clearly a lifelong learner as he showed his card for using the Bodlian Library. He went over time a bit, as people continued to ask about the Colleges that C.S. Lewis or Tolkien attended, and he quite readily said, "I can show you that." As a result, we had to drop out and race to the train station and didn't get the chance to thank him or tip him. But it was a very worthwhile tour.

Fascinating Overview of Oxford - We took this walking tour a few days ago. We were looking for a good and interesting overview of the University and that’s what we got. Having read the reviews, I was hoping to get Simon, and we did. The reviews were accurate — he is knowledgeable and friendly and gave us lots of interesting history and fun stories. This was money well spent. It occurred to me as I read all the reviews mentioning Simon that he probably solicits reviews from his tour groups. Well, he does, sort of, in a very low key manner. He says something along the lines of, if you enjoyed the tour, the best way you can help me is to give a good review. He then walks off before you have any opportunity to give him a tip. Nothing offensive about that. I would have happily given him a tip and I am delighted to write a good review because the tour was excellent.
