Discovering Oxford’s Hidden Gems

On March 16th, as the skies turn overcast, the Oxford Walking Tours offer a chance to delve deeper into the city’s hidden gems. Available in the morning and afternoon, these guided tours provide a comprehensive look at Oxford’s universities, historical pubs, and iconic landmarks. From the stunning Gothic architecture of the University of Oxford to the charming Alice’s Shop, each stop on the tour reveals a new facet of the city’s rich history.

The cooler temperatures and cloudier skies create a cozy atmosphere, perfect for exploring the historic pubs that have hosted famous personalities like Stephen Hawking and Margaret Thatcher. As you sip a pint at The Bear Inn, Oxford’s oldest pub, you’ll feel the weight of history in every corner.

Guided walking tour of Oxford University Colleges - We took a walking tour of Oxford University Colleges from the outside. We were guided by Leo. Our party of 3 were very fortunate to have him to ourselves for the duration of the 90 minute tour. He was exceptionally knowledgeable as he had studied for 2 degrees at the University. He was great at answering all our questions and showing us many things of interest. We thoroughly enjoyed this guided tour. (Reviewed at: 2025-01-15)

The tours’ flexibility allows you to join multiple routes throughout the day, ensuring you don’t miss any of Oxford’s historical treasures. Whether you’re a history buff or a casual traveler, these tours offer a captivating glimpse into the city’s past.
