Everyone with a conscious should visit & support these sanctuaries. - Wonderful experience, well organised & informative guide Dannis. Shown video on arrival & very sad to see that cruelty still goes on for these majestic animals. Sanctuary is ethical & will soon open the first veterinary hospital in Phuket which is so needed. Got to feed the elephants & walk the sight with them & their cahoots. Excellent refreshments provided. A must visit.

Best ethical experience - This was the best trip we have ever experienced on all our travels. We visit many destinations and this is a not to be missed experience if you like an ethical adventure. We fed and walked alongside the elephants in their open habitat. The guide we had for one hour “Jeffy” was very knowledgeable and told us everything about all the elephants and how they have been rescued and their health needs. We had breakfast, refreshments, lunch cold towels and pre-arranged transfers to and from our hotel in Patong, all booked on their website before leaving the UK. All together it cost about £150 and wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

Incredible Day! - This extremely well organized tour was amazing! From pick up close to cruise ship to return, very organized. The gentle giants are beautiful and very well cared for. It was unreal to stand so close to these big guys! Very tasty lunch with lots of variety. Thank you Viator and Phuket Elephant Sanctuary for a day I will never forget!

Fun, safe and informative - Pick up and drop-off were smooth. Once arriving at the sanctuary, we were given an instructional video and greeted by many people. We started off with feeding some elephants and doing a tour of the sanctuary. Lasted a few hours, but it flew by. Would go again.

A Genuinely Ethical Elephant Sanctuary - This is a fabulous and genuinely ethical set up. Our transport took us to the PES - about an hour from Patong beach. Upon arrival we were provided socks and wellington boots and were provided with a video overview of the ill treatment of elephants and the role of the sanctuary. Snacks and drinks were available for all upon arrival with a fabulous vegetarian selection of food for lunch later. All visitors split into small Farouk’s and were assigned a very knowledgable and passionate guide. We were shown the elephant sleeping quarters (note many elephants have had a distressing background and cannot sleep in the wild - often needing human company. The 121 keepers live on site and often sleep with their elephant where needed). We the. Got to feed the elephants, minimising contact other than gently stroking their trunks when feeding. We then spent time walking out on the reserve observing the elephants feeding, bathing and interacting. Our guide told us about the background and health issues for each elephant. PES currently house 12 elephants but they are building and expanding - subject to funding. They have to purchase their elephants from captivity often costing in excess of $30,000. The elephants come to the reserve to serve out their remaining days in a safe and sound welfare environment. You should consider visiting the Phuket Elepant Sanctuary. It’s a unique but truely rewarding experience.

Very informative session. Guide was really good & very knowledgeable in her job. Feeding the elephants was a fantastic memorable - Fantastic ethical tourism venue for retired and abused elephants. They are brought here from all over Thailand and get to retire from the mistreatment they receive in logging and tourism industries.

Too class 1/2 day tour - What a great experience - organisation of taxi’s, staff knowledge and customer service and lunch. Great to see a private organisation associated with animals doing the right think in a region where animal laws need to change! Learnt a lot about a cruel trade and the elephant sanctuary setting out to invoke change and hopefully others will follow suit including the Thai government!
