I wanted to see elephants... - I wanted to see elephants while in Phuket. However, i had real concerns about the treatment of animals. After some research i found this sanctuary. Do not miss this experience! - A wonderful experience, highly recommended. I am generally reluctant to do any trips due to welfare concerns so I researched this and seeing the in depth responses to reviews raising questions really reassured me that this would be an ethical trip. I was not disappointed. The whole experience was great, we were collected from our hotel in an air conditioned mini bus and driven to the office where we signed in and chose our included soft drink. Then we were driven in a 4x4 to the main site where we were given soft drinks and snacks before being shown a video about the background of the sanctuary and the work they do. Then we were assigned our guides for the treetop walk. Our guide Jessie was knowledgeable and spoke good English, he found us good photo opportunities and told us about the elephants we saw. We got good views from the walkways but we're also taken to ground level when appropriate and got close to the elephants without invading their space. It was lovely to see them mooching about doing what they chose with their Mahout accompanying them. Many elephants had injuries and infirmities that lead them to the sanctuary and Jessie explained this as well as telling us other interesting anecdotes about the elephants. Jessie also took photos for those who wanted their photo taken with the elephant behind them. Eventually, we went back to the seating area where we were given refreshments again including a delicious fruit cocktail, fries and samosas. Then we had the opportunity to feed a couple of the elephants. The elephants weren't coerced or restrained, they walked over willingly and clearly knew this was the fun part! I had no idea how much I would enjoy feeding the elephants, we were given instructions and a basket of fruit and were able to take photos. The elephants were very gentle but determined that you should feed them at their pace! We then had chance to have some more refreshments and browse the shop before returning to the office and our transfer to the hotel. We arrived back earlier than expected as there was no waiting around. Overall this was a faultless experience and I would recommend it to anyone

A great experience and a good feeling - What an experience! To be so close to these animals, without a fence or a window. Great!! We had the 1.5h tour. First you get socks and rubber boots, then you will be guided in this elephant collection station after a video about high paths. There you can already see elephants and then the guide goes into the rainforest and you have only a few meters of air between you and the elephants. In the stories you can feel the goodwill and respect for the animals. A very well organized tour from the hotel via check-in, station and return transfer (if desired). All in all very great experience!!

Very unique and knowledgeable tour experience! - Very cool experience visiting The Phuket Elephant Sanctuary! Tour was our guide, and he was very knowledgeable! Knew so much about each and every elephant at the sanctuary. Highly recommend the walkway tour!

Great experience - Great place, well organised experience. Nice gestures like some souvenirs and drinks at the end. Staff is very knowledgeable. There are 9 elephants, all rescued from poorly treated backgrounds. Each elephant has its own keeper and you can tell they are very well taken care of. The price is reasonable for this experience especially considering the amount of good work they’ve done here.

Excellent afternoon well spent - Absolutely loved this afternoon trip, get up and close, no touching though. Watching the elephants do what ever they want in their retirement home. Amazing trip and you get to feed them at then end as well. You get drinks and snack when you arrive and then after the tour your get a meal and drinks again before getting a lift back to their office Would highly recommend this trip

Amazing must see experience - This tour literally changed my life. It is so different from all other elephant places. This one is the only heaven for elephants where you can see them in their natural habitat, feed them, bond with them. In all other places (zoo, circus, shows) elephants are tortured for money. In this one they are surrounded with love and care. Come to see the love!

Awesome! - Wonderful half day trip from Patong Beach. The transportation from our hotel was well organized and easy. Guides at the sanctuary are knowledgeable and the elephants do seem to be happy. The lunch provided was excellent. Highly recommend

10/10 - Super friendly people ad just great work they are doing there. Our guide Ritta was amazing. They offered a lot of drinks and snacks.
