THIS LISTING IS A SCAM. - I reserved this listing for a Cape Town trip. The listing clearly listed what was included as: private transportation, a specialized guide at the vineyard, a wine tasting at Fairview, one cheese tasting, a wine tasting at Delaire Graff, and a wine tasting at Boschendal. The listing also includes what is not included as: lunch, or further optional visits. However, when we arrived at the first vineyard, Boschendal, we showed them the tickets provided for our excursion in the app, as well as the receipts of purchase and the listing. However, after speaking with the very kind and helpful managers and staff on site, we found out that this listing is a complete scam and that the winery had no awareness of it. I called the number provided and spoke to the person responsible for the listing. He tried to claim that the $240 I paid was only for the transportation to the vineyards, and that none of the 3 vineyards knew we were coming, nor had any reservations for us, and we would just have to hope that they could accommodate us last minute. When I sent him copies of our receipt and screenshots of the specific listing of “what is included” in the package we paid for, he merely transferred me to his assistant, Sana. Sana was also not at all helpful and only repeated the tagline about transportation being the only thing provided in the package that advertised explicitly as including 3 wine tastings, a cheese pairing, and a specialized guide (which we also never got or experienced). I alerted the wineries being exploited on this listing, and the wineries all were planning to investigate it as a scam using their business without permission and without their knowledge. I am assuming that is why 2 of the 3 vineyards have now been replaced with new, unaware wine estates. However, I was never refunded, so I paid $240 on top of having to pay at each vineyard out of pocket. To be clear, transportation alone would have cost about $20. I know this because we returned to Boschendal multiple times on later days, reserving our own transportation from the city out to the vineyard. The cost of transportation never exceeded $25. So the attempt at claiming transportation was the only thing included, valued at $240, is a ludicrous claim and blatant lie. This listing is a scam, they will take your money and provide nothing in return. The man/company behind the scam is intentionally obtuse and unhelpful, and will merely hang up on you whenever you try to contact them, or will always be “in the car driving, unable to talk at the moment”. DO NOT PURSUE THIS LISTING.
