Additional Information

Lower Antelope Canyon is known in Navajo as Hasdeztwazi, meaning “Spiral Rock Arches.” The majestic canyon formed over numerous centuries due to the persistent power of water and wind that gradually shaped the sandstone into the patterns, textures, and structures visible currently.

The panorama in Lower Antelope Canyon shifts continuously with the sun’s position in the sky, casting diffused rays over the rock facades. This constant alteration of sunlight angles reflects light to and fro across the narrow canyon’s sides, resulting in a mesmerizing spectacle of color, illumination, and shade.

Must see - Beautiful light/shadows and colors. Not strenuous generally but one does need to be able to climb and descend steps. Crowded but didn’t feel rushed. Alex our guide was a bit soft spoken and difficult to hear at times. Time zone confusion did cause an issue - so be mindful when traveling in area and making appointments.

Absolute MUST SEE!!!! - Our guide TJ was such a sweetheart! He communicated with us throughout the whole tour and even helped update our photo settings to capture the most spectacular colors and images. The views in the canyon were absolutely indescribable. TJ pointed out some of the formations and gave us a thorough history of the Navajo attachments to this incredible canyon as well as the scientific history. He guided us very carefully ensuring that everyone in our group was safe and able to take photos at particular spots. TJ offered to take photos of families and individuals through the tour with gorgeous backdrop of the canyon walls. We had an unforgettable experience!

Beautiful Canyon - I had visited lower Antelope Canyon before this trip. My tour guide on my first trip was very informative. This visit even though the tour guide was pleasant, he wasn’t informative and many times was behind our group tour, leaving us on our own. He did take the time and found most of us, to take our individual pictures. There were several things pointed out on my first tour that wasn’t pointed out this time to our group (or at least to the group I was in). Antelope Canyon is beautiful, and I will return.

Book Direct (Outside of TripAdvisor) - Beautiful canyon, but highly recommend booking directly with tour companies, and not Trip Advisor. We were double booked due to a mistake on their website and a refund was denied.
