Outstanding experience with a phenomenal guide - Excellent overall tour experience - definitely the highlight of our entire time in South Korea. Eddie, our guide (who was a former SK army officer stationed in SK) was professional, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. His experience and expertise with the history of the DMZ and border region provided us with insights that we could not have imagined (or received on other tours). We felt as though we received a “Master Class” in one day that was curated by a friend. The itinerary was thoughtfully arranged with Eddie providing us VIP service including navigating the security protocols at the DMZ. This is a Korean experience not to be missed.

My guide “Tiger” was... - My guide “Tiger” was exceptional. He arrived at our meeting early. As a former South Korean Officer in the Army one could tell he had a commanding presents. Tiger left nothing to chance. As he conducted a day long tour he proceeded to tell a well thought out sorry of our adventure including detailed times for historical events. The timeline story was given over several chapters given thought out the day as we toured the historical sights. At every turn he was prepared to give a detailed explanation answering every question. Without any reservation my tour was the best tour that I have ever had and I have had numerous tours over the years from a lot of tour companies. An EXCEPTION TOUR GUIDE!

100% Recommendation Private Tour with Tiger - Our guide Tiger was the best. We had a private tour with 2 people. Great organized tour, reliable pickup and communication, lots of information, always an ear for questions. You could feel the passion for history. 100% recommended. The private tour is worth it. Thank you for the great experience!

Tour with Tiger - Our experience with PLK Travel was outstanding. We booked a private DMZ Peace Tour and our guide Tiger was wonderful. He shared several stories about South Korea, the DMZ and a thorough history of the Joseon Dynasty from 1392 to 1910, Korea under Japanese occupation from 1910 to 1945 and North & South Korea from 1945 to present. We never felt rushed for time. Unfortunately, the monorail is down for renovation but the hike down and up the tunnel was a workout. Difficult to bend over for tall people but worth the effort. Tiger was everything you want in a guide: prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, communicative, and engaging. The schedule was laid out, time tables were clear, and he made sure we got the highlights when we were running slightly behind schedule at the DMZ tunnel. We would highly recommend the private tour!

Bringing history to live - Tiger was an excellent tour guide for the DMZ. He picked us up from the hotel in a very comfortable car and he is a very safe driver. On the way to the DMZ, Tiger started telling us about the history of Korea. Having worked in the DMZ in a previous job, Tiger brought a lot of interesting insights to the tour. We learned so much from him about the ancient history of Korea, the Japanese occupation, how Korea was divided after WW II as well as the Korean War and the time since the armistice agreement. Being able to see the DMZ and walk into one of the tunnels N. Korea dug under the DMZ brought the history to live. Tiger was very patient in answering our questions and he never rushed us. If you are traveling to Seoul, I highly recommend that you book a tour to the DMZ with Tiger as your guide.

De-Militarized Zone Tour - This is a fairly active experience, the tunnel tour was strenuous, a long walk down a steep incline followed by a narrow passage with a low ceiling. Very interesting and educational, we learned a lot from our guide Marie who did an excellent job showing us around. Had a very nice vehicle and made it a comfortable trip. We enjoyed the added experience of having an active day and saw a lot of the DMZ. The mountain top observatory was a highlight as it’s one of the few places you can take pictures of the North Korean side. Watching a couple North Koreans go about their daily life across the border through a telescope was quite interesting. All in all an excellent trip with a great guide.

A must see for history buffs - We had a private tour and Sungin Park was an excellent guide. He has bankful of knowledge about and anything DMZ , and on our way to Paju he was giving us tour of Seoul spontaneously which was unexpected but needed. It was a memorable experience for the sad history of Korea.

Very good, thank you Tiger. - Tiger was an excellent tour guide. He was very informative and funny and highly recommend Tiger. He picked us up on time and gave us a lot of information and we learnt a lot. We wished we were able to take photos inside DMZ and of NK, however Tiger took photos. Expensive, but private tour was worth it over a group tour.

Good but not Great - We booked a private tour. Two of us plus one guide. The itinerary as described was decent but the execution was a little off. DMZ was interesting, Observation tower was fair, Unification Village is just a shopping opportunity and the Mountain Suspension Bridge is an easy jaunt but mediocre. Our guide, Marie, had great intentions however caused my husband and I some discomfort. She was late showing up for our pick-up and everything from that point forward seemed rushed. Her rushing which could be considered being high energy allowed for us to be first for everything which was a plus! My husband and I were literally down the tunnel and half way back up before any of the other groups. However, since she wanted to be first in line for everything we felt pushed. Grateful but pushed. For our activities she kept inferring that people of our age had difficulties completing the various activities without some sort of issue. Also, she seemed to want to dissuade us from doing some of the activities like going all the down the tunnel or walking over the suspension bridge etc. It felt to us as if she thought we weren’t capable. Rather sad since we out did, out walked etc., her. We feel she judged us by our looks versus our abilities. Plus she was distant, didn’t want to sit and chat with us, eat with us, participate with us. Not 100% sure why…possibly a company policy? At the end of the day the tour was decent. Marie gave us a lot of information and we saw the DMZ.
