Visit Yala, Sri Lanka’s most renowned national park. Situated in the dry-zone region, the park experiences an extended drought season. Daytime temperatures often exceed 30 degrees, which is typical for the area. The reserve is predominantly parkland but also features lakes, beaches, jungles, rivers, and scrubland. This diverse range of habitats supports a wide variety of wildlife. Covering a total area of 1268 sq km, Yala consists of scrub, light forest, grassy plains, and brackish lagoons. The park is teeming with wildlife, and you are almost guaranteed to see elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, and monkeys.
