Discover Sardinia’s beauty on a luxury catamaran tour. Swim, snorkel, and savor Sardinian cuisine while exploring the Maddalena Archipelago’s stunning beaches.
- Spargi - Pause at one of the stunning bays on the island of Spargi, the initial stop of the Maddalena Archipelago. Here, you can snorkel and swim in the crystal-clear, turquoise waters, making your way to the island’s beautiful white beaches.
- Spiaggia Rosa - Capture photos in front of one of the world’s most enchanting and protected beaches: the renowned Pink Beach, a spectacular natural phenomenon. Spiaggia Rosa is part of the Maddalena Geomarine National Park, an area of immense natural interest. Due to special protections, walking on the beach or swimming in its waters is prohibited. Located just north of Spargi, the island is famous for its mythical pink beach. The coral-colored sand, vibrant sea colors, and unique granite formations create a one-of-a-kind spectacle. This natural monument should be admired in reverent silence.
The Pink Beach of Budelli, immortalized by director Michelangelo Antonioni in a lengthy sequence in the film “Red Desert,” is situated southeast of Budelli Island in the La Maddalena Archipelago. It is named for its distinctive coral pink color.
- Porto della Madonna - The Port of the Madonna, or Manto della Madonna, is in the northern part of the archipelago, nestled between the islands of Budelli, Razzoli, and Santa Maria. It features a stunning expanse of crystal-clear water, resembling a natural swimming pool, with small beaches of fine white sand facing a transparent sea. Some coves are open for swimming, while others are protected to preserve this unique natural wonder.
- Maddalena Islands - Razzoli and Santa Maria
These islands are nearly connected by the Asinelli Pass. Razzoli Island, the northernmost, is notable for its majestic cliffs and rock formations reminiscent of Moore’s sculptures. The lighthouse overlooking the Bocche di Bonifacio is particularly impressive.
In contrast, S. Maria Island, home to some pre-construction ban houses, still has an ancient, modest convent where Benedictine monks sought refuge in the Middle Ages. The island boasts Cala S. Maria, one of the largest beaches in the archipelago. In the tranquility of S. Maria, screenwriter Franco Solinas penned many significant works of Italian cinema. Gian Maria Volontè found solace here, sailing alone among the islands and the archipelago’s fierce winds.
The Porto Madonna
This lagoon, with its emerald waters, is enclosed by the islands of Budelli, Razzoli, and S. Maria. It is undoubtedly the park’s most captivating spot and a popular destination for boaters in northeastern Sardinia. The Park has designated large areas of this extraordinary water body for snorkeling and sea-watching.
