Just great! - Our guide Gabrielle was great. He gave us detailed explanations of everything. He was very pleasant. We were only 2 in the car with him. Only one downside, we were not aware that we had to buy him lunch.. which was not an issue, just weird All in all a very good experience!

Left us wanting more. - Our guide spoke enthusiastically about the experience that awaited us in taking a tour inland and away from the crowds of tourists - to Palazzolo Acreide (noted as one of the most beautiful villages of Italy) and the ceramics town of Caltagirone. Maybe because it was August or maybe the time of day we visited were not optimal because overall this was a long (and very hair raising) drive from Taormina to walk around a couple of piazzas, see some views and eat lunch. We were hoping to learn more about the history of both towns - churches and cultural buildings were closed. We only saw inside one church because they happened to be preparing for a saint day and our guide asked for entry (for which a donation was requested). Caltagirone ceramics were a highlight of our trip to Sicily so we were disappointed not to have learned more about its history and perhaps even visit ceramic making in the town/area. Perhaps this could be added to the tour itinerary? Overall a long drive & day out and not a particularly interesting or memorable experience.
