Great way to get from San Cristobal de las Casas to Palenque with great stops - Great way to get from San Cristobal de las Casas to Palenque. Picked up at our hotel in San Cristobal de las Casas then dropped off across from the ADO bus terminal in Palenque. The regular buses were more expensive and took longer. Stopped for breakfast with about a dozen other minivans. It was a good buffet for $90 pesos each. Had a great swim at Agua Azul. There were plenty of bathrooms to change in for $5 pesos. The driver gave instructions at each stop in Spanish and was a bit testy when not understood even with those that spoke Spanish. Luckily we caught when to be back at the bus. Be careful at Zona Arqueologica de Palenque. It was a bit confusing getting herded around and sold a guided tour. We were the only English speakers and chose the two hour tour before we learned the prices. $1,300 pesos for an hour and $2,600 pesos for two hours. Interesting but there's not enough there for two hours. Ended up wandering the jungle searching for monkeys. The cost was exorbitant and not worth that much. Told the guide we did not have that much cash and he ended up coming to our hotel to pick up the cash.
