Extraordinairy and unique combination of history (and present) - An extraordinairy and unique experience seeing the living quarters of a family of nobility over several centuries, showing the development and traces of the quarters over that period. The family themselves give the tour, giving a personal touch to the experience.

No Regrets! - My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. What made it more interesting is that the Federico family still lives here and one of the sons of the Count Federico gave us the tour. This was the best historic palace tour we have had in Palermo. I can guarantee that the reviews are 100% accurate and true. I can highly recommend this place. Definitely A MUST VISIT and not to be missed! Loved it!

The perfect one-hour tour (and respite from Ballarò) - My recommendation would be to reserve an early afternoon tour of this magnificent, vibrant, historical palazzo in the early afternoon after meandering through the excessively stimulating Ballarò market. It's a perfect, elegant respite and retreat from the loud and chaotic world outside as well as the best way to maximise the space of an hour.
There are lots of unique and special aspects of Palazzo Conte Federico that distinguish it, not least of which the fact that the four tours a day are each given by a member of the immediate family who call this palazzo their home, which has been in the family over 400 years and through now 16 generations of descendats of Emporer Federico II. Andrea Federico conducted our tour, providing plenty of interesting facts about the history and archtecture of the palazzo, Palermo, family anecdotes, and some well-delivered jokes. He is a very hospitable host, switches back and forth between English and Italian throughout, and answers questions in a very pleasant manner.
I particularly loved being inside the 12th century Arab-Norman tower, the only one of the original 24 still standing after the city walls were expanded. This one was saved because it had already been incorporated into the structure of the palazzo and now encloses a formal dining room.
There are many treasures within to behold, including Murano lamps, a piano played by Wagner, and a room devoted to Garibaldi and his campaign for the unification of Italy. The latter two were both guests at the palazzo and friends of the family.
I really loved my visit to Palazzo Conte Federico. It was the perfect length, tempo, balance of different information, and liveliness.
And after? I would suggest a late afternoon aperitivo back in the market.

Must See Experience Through Time - This palazzo is so special to me that I returned again from last year to bring my family . We were ten in total and thoroughly enjoyed this personalized experience . Not only is the palazzo exquisite , and historic but the personalized tour of by one of the family members makes the story come alive with detail and relevancy .
I can't speak highly enough about this tour with architectural cultural and historical explanations that make it so special .
By the way, our Sicilian -American family stayed at the apartments that are owned by the family as well , next to the palazzo so it made the experience even that much more enjoyable .

A piece of Palermo’s history, insightful and entertaining! - We really enjoyed the guided tour by an actual member of this historic family. We can’t recommend it highly enough, being walked through the past centuries of this family home that happens to be a palace. From German heritage to Sicilian counts, from Arabic and Norman conquerors to the formal unification of Italy, this palace has seen it all. Definitely a must whilst visiting Palermo.

It's worth the trip! - Really interesting visit conducted by the heirs of the family who still live in this perfectly maintained palace. Very interesting anecdotes and family history, told in an engaging and funny way.
