An informative look at history of Mafia & anti-Mafia movement - The tour was informative and I learnt a lot of the actual history of mafia in Palermo and Sicily and more importantly the resistance movement and how it bore fruit amongst the people. This was a great walking tour and kudos to our tour guide for keeping things interesting and engaging for almost 3 hours. Definitely recommend it when in Palermo.

Fascinating - Our guide Lina was passionate, informed and knowledgeable and made the tour so interesting! It was absolutely fascinating to hear how the mafia was allowed to wreak havoc then and now. The people standing up to them now are inspiring and brave. All over the world we are all sick and tired of the graft and corruption in our society.

Fascinating & informative on critical consumerism & anti mafia - This 3 hour walking tour ( with shade stops & drink/ toilet break) was highly informative & gave insight into the struggles and suffering of those who sought legal routes to tackle the mafia and its control of individuals communities. It covers some buildings on the major tourist routes but also some, like the wall of legality & courts, which might not be. It's also testimony to the value of anti gangs work in schools, an important issue in Italy & much wider. There is a lot to take in but the tour leader Sylvie held everyone's attention and her family anecdotes definitely added impact to the tour

Excellent tour but wished we had met/spoken with shopkeeper - Our guide, Laura, was amazing. Her historical knowledge and storytelling made the three hours fly by. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because we didn't meet with any locals (besides Laura) who are part of a civic movement resisting the Mafia or speak with any shopkeepers about their experiences with the AddioPizzo movement. I had really been looking forward to that part, so it was a slight disappointment. Additionally, the No Mafia backpacks that the guides are wearing at the meeting point are not obvious and the piazza is very crowded, so give yourself enough time to wander and find the guide.

Interesting - The female tour guide was very passionate about the city’s history and very knowledgeable. The tour gives you a different perspective on the glorification of organized crime in Sicily and the effects on its people: It is a walking tour so if it’s very hot prepare to dress appropriately.

Not worth the money - The guide did not make contact with her tour, some people left of boredom and she only notice 30 minutes later! We all thought the tour would be following more of a time line on the origin, its culture and the growth over the period. Then followed by the anti Mafia campaign and finally its resolve……… Well the tour is not that! It was a boring self absorbed anti mafia campaign.

Very Disappointing - Sadly and annoyingly this tour was not for us and we left after an hour. Our lady guide (Veronica?) was pleasant but she did a great deal of talking and, as odd as it sounds, imparted very little actual information. We listened, tried persevering but left very disappointed. Perhaps a different guide would have made it an interesting experience.
