Highlights
  • 73 Williams Esplanade - Departing from Palm Cove, we paddle our way over to the coral reefs that fringe Double Island and Haycock Island (Scouts Hat).\nThe first stop is our turtle spot. This is the place where the green turtle and the hawksbill turtle can be seen basking in the ocean. More often than not we have numerous turtle sightings. This is an exciting part of the trip for all of our customers.\nFrom here on, we either travel to the north side of the island or we move in to the south side and explore the mangroves, depending on what the tides are doing and the wind direction. Its not uncommon to see many rays and shovel nosed sharks playing and feeding in the shallows along the tidal part of the beach. If we venture to the north side of the island and with a low tide, we will check out the lime stone cave. When the tide is right, we go right inside the cave. Here we find small stalactites hanging from the roof of the cave. \nNext stop is the beach for a swim and relax. Snorkeling equipment will be provided, so if anyone feels like a snorkel, you are more than welcome to give it a go.\nAfter all this, its time to head home. If the northerly wind kicks in, we head back to Palm Cove.

Fun in nature, relaxing - We had a great time on the kayak tour. We saw a few turtles they went back under water fairly quickly again but we also loved swimming on the island and going in a small cave on the island also.

A magical way to start the day! - It was a wonderful early morning experience kayaking towards Double Island as the sun came up. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and expertly navigated us around Double Island while talking about the history, flora and fauna along the way. An exciting way to start the day!

Great activity, was 100% worth it! - Had an amazing morning kayaking out to Double Island. Andrew was a fantastic host, lovely guy and knew the best spots to see some turtles. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. As it’s only a half day activity there was still time to explore Palm Cove and have lunch nearby. Don’t forget to bring your water and snacks!!

A peaceful, enjoyable early morning on the water - Great fun! The double kayak was stable but reasonably fast, so the trip required much less effort than expected. Luke was knowledgeable and interesting to chat to. We didn't see much wildlife, but that's not the company's fault. Still enjoyed what we did see.

A lovely morning on the water, but a bit tricky if your group isn’t of equal capabilities - This was a decent morning out on the water, we enjoyed paddling out over to Double Island and having a quick wander around. It can be a bit tricky as you go as a group, so if you have someone who isn’t as capable/quick on the water, you do spend a bit of time waiting. I feel like our trip was cut short because of this - we ended up back at the shore an hour before we were initially told the tour would finish and didn’t go as far as we initially planned.

Great tour! - We had a terrific time with our guide Andy. We didn’t get to see many turtles but got to experience an amazing sunrise and the weather was perfect for kayaking. Andy shared his knowledge about Double Island and local wildlife and culture. We had a great experience and highly recommend this tour!

Highly recommend! - We did the sunrise turtle tour with Andy, and it was amazing. We saw a turtle, and the sunrise was amazing. Andy was very knowledgeable and funny and made the tour extremely informative. We visited double island, which was awesome, and the kayaking was not hard at all. If you are worried about 3 hours on the water, don't be. There are several stops along the way, so you are not paddling the entire time. Palm cove is beautiful and only about 15-20 mins drive from Carins city. I would highly recommend this tour! Local or tourist, it is a fantastic way to see the coastline from a new perspective.
