Embrace the Flavors of Palma
As the autumn leaves begin to fall, Palma, the vibrant capital of the Balearic Islands, offers a delightful blend of culinary experiences and scenic beauty. This weekend, immerse yourself in the rich flavors of Spanish cuisine with a Spanish Cooking Class at the historic MOLTAK, a 16th-century flour windmill brought back to life. Available from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on both November 2nd and 3rd, this hands-on cooking experience is perfect for families looking to bond over the art of cooking.
The class is designed to be fun and interactive, allowing participants to create a five-dish menu that takes you on a culinary journey across Spain. From the local sobrasada appetizer to the classic paella and Catalan cream, each dish is crafted with love and a touch of adventure. The experience is not just about cooking; it’s about sharing stories and laughter around the stove, making it a memorable family activity.

Scenic Drives Through Mallorca
For those who prefer the open road, the Scenic Island Drive offers a thrilling adventure through the picturesque landscapes of Mallorca. Available from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on both days, this tour allows you to explore the island in a high-power sports convertible, making it an unforgettable experience for car enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
The drive takes you through some of the most iconic spots in the southwest of Mallorca, including the winding roads of the Sierra de Tramontana. With stops at beautiful locations like Puerto Portals and the Mirador de Ricardo Roca, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to capture stunning views and create lasting memories with your family.
“This was a great experience! - This was a great way to see the island. We drove along the water and also into the mountains. The cars were manual transmission with lots of pep and fun to drive. All were equipped with GPS so even if we went the wrong way, we could find our way back to the route. Wish I had brought my mini-plug converter so I could have plugged in to the car’s auxiliary connection so I could have listened to my own music during the drive. That would have made it perfect! We had a lot of fun on this tour.” - Reviewed on 2024-10-02
Practical Tips for a Family Adventure
Traveling with kids can be a breeze with a bit of planning. For the cooking class, ensure you book in advance and inform the hosts if you require a vegetarian option. The class is suitable for children aged six and above, making it a great way to introduce them to the joys of cooking.
For the scenic drive, remember to bring your driver’s license and passport, and arrive 30 minutes before the start of the tour. The tour is conducted in a group, so punctuality is key to ensuring a smooth experience. The weather forecast suggests partly cloudy conditions with a slight chance of rain, so pack a light jacket and sunscreen to stay comfortable throughout the day.
With these activities, Palma promises a weekend filled with adventure, culture, and delicious food, making it an ideal destination for families looking to create unforgettable memories together.
