We collaborate with small producers and farmers to bridge your culinary experience with the most genuine artisanal food production of Mallorca. This experience allows for you to connect in a deep, sincere and immersive way with our culture and honor traditional local food. Located in the center of Palma, Mercado del Olivar is the largest typical market in the city. This stroll will allow you to delve in its vibrant Mediterranean atmosphere. We will go through its fruit, fish and other delicacies stall, meet the vendors and source some of the ingredients that we need for our meal. Once in my atelier, we will start a hands-on cooking workshop to prepare a complete Mallorcan seasonal menu together. All the ingredients are locally and sustainably sourced. Please advise of any dietary requirements, we will do our best to accommodate the course to your needs.

Our relationship with nature has always been guided by concepts such as seasonality, local goods, modesty, harmony, and appreciation. At Forn de la Llotgeta, we acknowledge that ancient food customs can offer us profound insights that can assist us in tackling significant sustainability issues, including how we perceive our travel encounters. We cooperate with local growers and craftspeople, linking your gastronomic journey with Mallorca’s most traditional artisanal food production. By doing so, you will not only relish in the fruits of their laborious and passionate efforts, but you also have the chance to bring home the ingredients and materials used during the session to reconstruct the recipes and capture the distinctive flavors of Mallorca.
We encourage you to deeply, honestly, and personally engage with our historical culture to celebrate local cuisine and the dedicated producers and crafters who have a deep reverence for this island.

Recommended - The Mallorcan cooking class with market visit in Palma was an unforgettable experience! The course not only offered the opportunity to cook traditional Mallorcan dishes, but also began with an inspiring visit to the local market. There we selected fresh ingredients and learned a lot about regional cuisine. The atmosphere was relaxed, together with Deborah we prepared delicious dishes and learned a lot about the culinary traditions of Mallorca. An absolutely recommendable highlight!

Authentic & suitable for everyone! - Our family cooking class with Deborah was absolutely fantastic and a real highlight of our Mallorca trip! There were eight of us on the road and we loved it from start to finish. Deborah, who is a local and also kept the course in German, first led us through a local market. There we got exciting insights into the regional ingredients of traditional Mallorcan cuisine – fresh, authentic and interesting! You can see how much knowledge and passion she has for the island's traditions.
After the market we went to her charming studio where we conjured up delicious Mallorcan dishes with Deborah's guidance. The atmosphere was super relaxed and at the same time totally authentic. It was especially great that the dishes were easy to understand and easy to participate in even for Beginners, so that everyone could really participate actively.
In the end we were allowed to enjoy the home-cooked food. An all-round perfect day that we will not forget anytime soon.
If you are looking for an authentic, fun and educational experience in Mallorca, this cooking class is a must! We can only highly recommend it. Thank you, Deborah!

Amazing experience! - My wife and I are visiting Mallorca from the United States. We like to do less ‘touristy’ experiences and this cooking class was an amazing experience! Deborah is exceptional at explaining the history, meaning, and current challenges of food and culture on Mallorca. We would 100% do it again!

Authentic, romantic and very memorable ! - We had such fun learning about the food culture and heritage of Mallorca. Deborah took us around the market and shared with us her rich knowledge of the fresh available produce and why we see it at the market. We then enjoyed a very special time preparing a meal in her magnificent kitchen space. All the ingredients were set out so beautifully and in such a romantic way. She took us on a special culinary journey as we got our hands dirty making our lunch meal. Everything felt very authentic, genuine and personal. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in something more than a commercial class. An experience we will never forget!

Participate! - It was a really great cooking class. Deborah gave us an insight into Mallorcan cuisine and culture, and she went into a lot of background information about the origin of the products, sustainable agriculture, etc. Her cooking studio is very authentic and inviting. We cooked three great dishes using regional and seasonal products.

Fantastic, informative, friendly ,superb cookery course - Fantastic day. Deborah gave us a superb tour of the market . Talks passionately about Majorcan traditional food and the importance of the market and seasonal produce. Arrived at the wonderful 17c bakery building for the cookery course . Deborah kept our small group of seven busy preparing traditional Majorcan dishes to satisfy our varied vegan, vegetarian and omnivore tastes. Fresh ingredients and great combinations made the very best ,tasty Majorcan dishes. A relaxed , very well taught and incredibly enjoyable day , Thankyou .

Great experience, highly recommended! - Wonderful experience with Deborah and a great team! It's expensive, but worth every cent. Lots of exciting information about the island, Palma, history and cuisine. Cooking with lots of fun and new insights. Delicious, including the wine. Always happy to come back! Inspiring inside Information about Mallorcan food - A lot of detaiteld info about food and historical background was given at market hall of Palma. Cooking event was very inspiring, too, and the result really delicious.
