Since the 2nd Century B.C.E., its thermal springs served as a wellness spa where people sought relief for their health conditions, often spending their last days or passing away here. Some notable attractions include its expansive necropolis brimming with sarcophagi, the main boulevard featuring gates and latrines, the cathedral, the theatre, and the tomb of St. Philips.
