Great way to see the culture highlights - A luxurious tour from a passionate guide with encyclopedic knowledge of Goa! This was my first visit to Goa and I was initially overwhelmed trying to figure out how to see historical sites spread across South Goa. I was interested in the Portuguese influence outside Panjim but I was traveling solo and didn’t have transportation of my own. This tour solved that problem and exceeded my expectations. Mario is an expert at what he does—from his knowledge of history, to the high quality service, to his personal connections. He thought of the smallest details, like refreshing towels and shady spots to stand. He also was able to convince a historic home owner to open for tours on a day when the owner originally planned to close. Mario patiently answered every one of my questions and I walked away with a much richer understanding of Goa, past and present. I loved seeing the market. Another highlight was the Palácio do Deão. The lunch there was my best meal in Goa and will likely be the best food I eat during my entire trip to India. Highly recommend!

GOA TRIP! - We went to Goa during monsoon season and that did not deter us from sightseeing or having fun! Our itinerary was for 3 days and our guide was Mario from withlocals tour company. We visited so many places both in the North and South Goa. We encompassed churches like the Se Cathedral Church and Saint Augustine Ruins, took a leisurely stroll in Panjim's Fontainhas, age old Hindu temples and colonial solar houses and even made time to go visit and eat at the Spice Plantation. Mario is a very dedicated guide and a passionate historian who is an expert in his craft! He also takes very good care of his clients and is attentive to every detail and needs. If you go visit Goa and want a tour guide better call Mario Monteiro!

An amazing and magical experience - Our 3 days with Mario were an absolutely amazing experience! He truly enriched our stay in Goa. Mario tailored the tours perfectly to our interests, providing detailed explanations and sharing fascinating historical curiosities along the way. The places we visited were truly magical, and the food was delightful. We completely emerged in Goa’s past and felt the real experience of the present. Besides the amazing guide Mario is, his personality and kindness brought these days to the top! He is extremely attentive and doing the extra mile for people to be the most comfortable as possible always providing fresh beverages and refreshing towels that saved us during the hot weather. Finally the driver was also excellent and the car very comfortable. I highly recommended Exotic Goan excursions for anyone visiting Goa!

Magnificent! - What a memorable tour I took with Mario! During the visit to Casa Meneses Bragança in Chandor I felt like I was in a movie! What a wonderful collection. Casa do Deão also transports us to the past, but with a modern touch. The story of the current owner Rubem and the delicious lunch they served us. A walk in the gardens is a must. Mario is an excellent guide attentive to small and large details, such as his wonderful scented and refreshing wipes distributed at the right time. They also provided very cold drinks. I would repeat the tour without thinking twice. If you visit Goa, don't waste time looking for a guide. Contact Mario! Once more, thank you!

Private tour of Goa away from the crowds - Fantastic shore tour travelled Feb 2020 precovid visiting off the beaten track sites including the estate of a Catholic priest where we had a banquet of Goan dishes with vegetarian items made specifically for us. A delightful stop at a museum without any other cruisers to see household and agricultural implements dating as far back as the 1600's. We spent time at the Braganca mansion in Chandor, the home of the Spanish emissary to Goa whre we had a private tour conducted by the present owners. Why go with a crowd on a bus when you can have a fantastic adventure like this?

Colonial Goa tour with Exotic Goan Excurtions - Mario is just not a local person but an experienced and very professional tour guide that loves Goa and his job.He takes care of you from the moment of booking and not only from the appointment onwards. Mario thinks of everything even details like refreshing towels and disinfectant for tourists hands. He is flexible for any extra needs and does not take into account extra time. He organises personalised tours with great meticulousness and interprets his work according to the expectations of highly demanding tourists. He has a good knowledge from a historical and cultural point of view and is undoubtedly the best guide we ever had. We would like to recommend Mario as much as possible because even humanly he is exceptional. Hope to meet him again.

Fantastic day tour! - The sites included in the tour is very well put together by Mario showing Goa at its best. Mario walked us through the amazing covered Margao market which were narrow maze like aisles where you can shop Spices, dried fish n prawns, authetic goan sausages, jaggery, clothes etc etc. Our next stop was a visit to 17th century Braganza Pereira Portuguese Mansion which is breathtakingly beautiful. The splendour of the interior n the well cared for gardens showed the grandeur of the Portuguese era. Palácio do deãu the home of the Dean which is being restored bit by bit is beautiful in all its simplicity. The garden is extensive. We chose to take a walk after our delicious lunch where the staff were all extremely nice and hospitable. We are so glad that Mario included this site for our tour. The food was prepared with fresh ingredients, some grown on the property. Chitra Museum is a must see. Amazing private collection of Goan History. We ended the tour with Colva beach which Mario incorporated as per our request. Mario is easy going, helpful and patient. We had a stress free tour and enjoyed every minute of it. We would highly recommend Mario as a tour guide.
