Food and drink Experience with Victor

This is a fantastic primer on the culture of Panama, which is not something you’ll encounter or partake in with other tour guides. Our journey will showcase Panama as seen by its residents, a perspective that most other guides won’t show you—except for Victor, who maintains profound ties with the communities of Chorrillo and Santa Ana.

Duration: 3 hours, 30 minutes

Highlights
  • Plaza Herrera - Want something different than a traditional walking tour? Victor is a passionate local taking visitors off the beaten path in El Chorillo, the forgotten side of Panama City. The poor neighborhood El Chorrillo has a bad reputation and It is widely known for social problems.

Get off the beaten path with Victor and see where boxer Roberto Duran trained, learn about how the U.S. invasion of Panama affected this neighborhood, try local food and drinks, visit the park where dominoes are played, chat with the locals in their homes & get to know the people of this area, and learn about the gentrification that has taken place in the now trendy Casco Viejo historic district.

Victor’s idea is to show tourists the real side of Panama: the local people, their living conditions & culture. He runs the tour under the slogan:
“We are more than just a famous Canal - We are People”.

Take this tour it's priceless! - Take this tour! We were enlightened and educated about the people and history of Panama. Victor is an awesome guide. Never did we feel threatened or unsafe. Many have told us to the contrary. We will be back to experience the 2 sides to Panama. Keep doing what you doing teacher!

must-to-do in Panama City - It was an amazing experience to tour El Chorrillo and Santa Ana areas with Victor. We hardly saw any tourists. If you only stay in Cosco Viejo, you will miss a big part of Panama City and its culture and history. The best part of my experience was meeting local people, playing domino games, watching local soccer team playing, and trying street food. Victor is a great guide. He does a lot of work for the community. Everyone recognized and welcomed him while we were walking around. He was also super helpful if you need any assistance or tips with other activities in Panama. Ultimately, it was one of the best things I did in Panama City, and I highly recommend this tour to anyone.
