We Recommend This Tour of Panamanian Wildlife - This tour was fantastic. I highly recommend this experience. We were able to see Panamanian wildlife up close, all the while learning about birds, reptiles and mammals from our knowledgeable guide, Alejandro. During the boat ride in the Panama Canal, we explored the small islands off the canal, where we saw all three species of monkeys in Panama, snail kites and iguanas. We then drove to the sloth sanctuary to learn about the rescued sloths and the program to reintroduce the species to the wild. While at the sanctuary, we also saw turtles, butterflies and dart frogs. Alejandro was an amazing and knowledgeable guide and we felt lucky to have found this experience.

Nature experts that bring Lake Gatun to life - First our guide Ariel was so knowledgeable. I leant a lot about Panamanian nature from monkey families to the great bird spotting. We got up and close to the monkeys and were able to feed. Definitely a top recommendation from me. You don’t just get to experience sloths but also butterflies and dart frogs.

Great trip and great tour! - This was a fantastic way to get outside of the city and see more of the beautiful country of Panama. Ricardo was an awesome guide and shared a lot about the history, the culture, and some great humor. They confirmed with us the night before, were promptly on time (Miguel was a great driver), and we had an awesome day. Would highly recommend!

Loved it! - Our guide was incredibly knowledgable about all things Panama, the canal, and the rainforest. It was such a great experience seeing the boats heading to the canal, visiting the monkeys and have them climb all over our boat, and seeing the sloths/butterflies/frogs. Highly recommend!

You don’t get to touch any sloths or see them up close - don’t believe the ad picture - The bus picked us up pretty early and there were a few stops but it wasn’t bad. The boat we took was one of maybe 25 and they are all doing the same thing - if they see something in the treeline they all cram in there. The monkeys know that the guides have food so the guides were able to coax out some monkeys who will grab the banana or bag of grapes and go back into the trees. We saw a handful of things so not as much as we hoped. The lake is beautiful but all the other boats take away a little. The sloth sanctuary was what I most looked forward to but it was disappointing- they have five sloths and no one gets to be near them or touch them. The guy gave them a hibiscus flower to eat but we had to stay behind a barrier and just see them. It’s not like the picture at all. It is one room with sloths that you can’t get near. That’s it. Outside they lad you through some butterfly and poison dart frog rooms but it was hot and we were here in December.

Ok experience but could be better. Shop around for sure. - We weren’t super impressed with this company or this tour. The tour operator doesn’t answer messages and makes no effort to reach out to customers ahead of time (once finally got a hold of them they said they prefer a less than 12 hour initial contact). As we had booked other operators through Trip Advisor for this same vacation who had great customer service, the lack of it here stood out. The wildlife boat tour was almost exclusively aggressive monkey chasing. As in if one was spotted, they would run the boat literally into the trees and try and tease the monkeys into entering the boat. 1: your passengers can see nothing above them in the jungle canopy if you drive a covered boat into the trees…we were commenting/complaining with the other passengers about this. And we did ask them to back up so we could see but most of the time they didn’t. 2: wildlife = more than monkeys…we would have loved some calmer puttering around to look for more than just monkeys. 3: when the boats idle together the customers just sit in a stink of fuel and exhaust. I can’t fault the company for the weather, it rained and we were soaked through to the bone. A hand towel or a poncho would have been great, none provided by the company. Notable to others who book that your clothing will be 100% wet if it rains-think about a swimsuit or all dry fit clothing, my kids sloshed around for the rest of the tour. The sloth sanctuary was just 3 sleeping sloths and a run down butterfly exhibit. Heavy handed on trying to get us to buy souvenirs and shop at the gift shop. I gave it two stars because my kids did enjoy being on the water (when it wasn’t raining), we enjoyed seeing the Panama Canal from a different view point, sloths are still cute even if it’s just 3 of them, and none of us got bit by a monkey.
