Chagres River - Embark on a unique adventure in Panama, offering an incredible mix of kayaking, hiking, and cultural experiences in the breathtaking rainforest.
This journey starts with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in downtown Panama City or Casco Viejo. After a 50-minute van ride, you’ll arrive at the Chagres River’s edge. A canoe will transport you to a higher point for the kayaking adventure. As you paddle along the river, the current will assist you, making this adventure suitable for those with no prior kayaking experience and safe for non-swimmers. -
Chagres National Park - During the trip, we’ll take a 20-minute hike through the lush rainforest, navigating through mud, sand, and slippery rocks, leading to a pristine waterfall. Enjoy the invigorating experience of swimming in this natural oasis, a perfect way to connect with nature! Afterwards, we’ll continue our journey down the river to an Embera tribe village. Here, you’ll enjoy a traditional lunch and have the chance to change into dry clothes in the available facilities before exploring their exquisite handicrafts.
After a day filled with adventure and cultural exploration, a canoe will return us to the van, allowing you to relax and unwind as we head back to your accommodation.

Highly recommend this tour - We had a fantastic day with Alex as our guide. Everything went super smoothly and exactly as described. Got to visit the embera tribe, kayak in the chagres and swim in a waterfall

Kayak, waterfall & local tribe tour - The kayaking, swimming at the waterfall & learning about the indigenous tribes was transformative. We will never forget the kindness of the locals. Our guide Cesar was informative & passionate about the tour. We appreciated knowing the plan of the day before we started. We would recommend this tour to adventurous & inquisitive minds.

A wonderful day exploring a beautiful area and people - It was a wonderful experience. From the boat ride to the kayaks to the village. You'll enjoy the entire day. And the drive out to where you will be getting the experience isn't very far at all, just under an hour. Definitely wear shoes that you can wear in the river.
The only improvement I would suggest would be for the guide to pass along more information to those attending. I really didn't learn much from him. He just led us between activities but didn't teach us much about the area, the history, the politics, about the wildlife and vegetation, etc. Missed opportunity.

TOTALLY WORTH IT! - The views were great and the hospitality of the villagers even better. This tour promised adventure and insta worthy views and it overdelivered! Our tour guide Dan went above and beyibg from picking us from our hotel to dropping us off. 5 stars. 10/10 run don't walk!

The perfect jungle adventure! - No other way of saying it; this was one of the best days of my life!
The perfect adventure: cruising up through the jungle in the traditional Embera canoes, kayaking downriver, gentle trekking through rivers and jungle to reach the hidden waterfall. And for largely the entire trip we were alone, no big throngs of tourists, so we could really enjoy the sense of getting lost in the jungle.
Topped off with a visit, dance and food with the local Embera tribe.
Cannot recommend this enough, and our guide Cesar was the perfect host.

DONT HESITATE!! Amazing trip!!! - Once in a lifetime trip. We couldn’t believe how much value we got from this experience. This is truly a chance to see an authentic side of Panama. The rainforest and cruising down the Chagres River was epic, we felt like we were in a movie. The birds and butterflies and sounds of the rainforest are epic. Our tour guide Cesar was super helpful from the booking right down to all the details during the day to make us comfortable. We decided to include the kayaking as part of the day which was absolutely worth it!!! Meeting the Embera community was also a special highlight. A day we don’t forget..

Time of my life for real no lies - Great experience overall, Cesar was outstanding especially with communication and a big helping hand when it came to the excursion, he was very knowledgeable about everything. I loved the village wish I could stay there but unfortunately they wasn’t accepting and new members at the time. Everything was beautiful everything was great loved it.

we had a blast!!!!!!!!!!! - We had a great time Cesar was the best host ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I struggled walking through the rainforest and he was very supportive and helpful making sure I got through it safely. I would definitely book with him over and over and over again.

Amazing Hike and Rainforest Experience - The hike through the rainforest was fantastic and energizing: the indigenous people were engaging and the waterfall and swim was refreshing. It was a fabulous tour and Dan our tour guide was excellent!

Definitely a must!! - This excursion was absolutely amazing!! The views canoeing/kayaking down the Chagres were so beautiful and the Embera tribe were so friendly. Best of all was our guide, Cesar!!!
