Experience a unique journey back in time with a tour to one of the Emberá communities, who continue to reside in traditional villages nestled deep within the rainforest of Panamá, alongside the Chagres River in The Chagres National Park. The Emberá people warmly welcome visitors to share in their rich culture and traditions.
The day begins with a hotel pick-up, followed by a transfer to the pier, where you will board a motorized canoe for a ride along the main waterway of the renowned Panama Canal’s Gatun Lake.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted with traditional music and a warm welcome. The Emberá will provide a brief presentation about their culture, including dances, crafts, and traditions. Lunch, prepared by the indigenous people, features fish wrapped in plantain leaves with Patacones. Before heading back to the pier, there will be time to purchase crafts, get an Emberá tattoo, or simply explore the area.
