The Embera Were Fantastic! - The trip to the Indian village Embera was truly amazing. Phillipe was a fantastic guide who was knowledgeable about the Embera tribe and culture. The food was delicious and the tribe was so friendly and made me feel welcome. The waterfall excursion was relaxing despite a brief sun shower. I’d recommend this trip to anyone interested in spending the day with the Embera.

The highlight of our visit to Panama! - What a wonderful excursion! Philip was an absolutely exceptional guide. He was informative, helpful, and went above and beyond to help my dad (who is a bit older) With the tougher sections of the hike. As far as the logistics, the van had enough space and was comfortable and air-conditioned. The pickup was clearly communicated in advance, and we really enjoyed the boat ride and the village! I was actually really surprised at how long we stayed in the village, which I appreciated, because we didn't feel rushed at all. They were very clear that the village has shifted their focus from sustaining to using tourism to sustain their way of life, which is interesting. There were two translators, one translating from the indigenous language into Spanish, and then one translating from Spanish into English. As I speak both Spanish and English, I will say that I did not feel the translator into English did a great job communicating all of the information. Some of the items that the indigenous translator repeated in Spanish were simply left out of the English translation. (It seemed like he was in more of a rush to finish then convey all of the information shared, but the gentleman speaking in Spanish, our guide Philip, was fantastic and had lots of information! We simply asked him to repeat the information to us and he did, so just something to be aware of.) For the river hike, it was short, but most of the hike was in the water, at about a mid-calf height. Our guide provided us with hiking sticks which were extremely useful, but if you are envisioning one singular river crossing, this was not it! Overall, this was our highlight of our entire trip to Panama. We absolutely loved this tour and would recommend it to anyone!

A must tour of Panama - Traveling through the Chagres River up to the waterfall. The waterfall is a must see, Being able to hike and swim at the waterfall was refreshing and an experience in itself. Hearing the Howler Monkeys and seeing a couple Cayman sun bathing on the banks of the river. Visiting the community was an absolute delight and the community was incredibly welcoming.

Great, well-rounded day - We had such a great day with Orlando and his brother Esteban! The waterfall is beautiful - don’t forget to take shoes suitable for walking in water - and the tribe was so welcoming and lovely. The boat rides were so cool and it was such good vibes for the day. Definitely recommend!
