- Miraflores Visitor Center - In the morning, a guide from Panama Travel Corp will meet guests at their hotel or residence in Panama City at 8:00 am for an unforgettable tour of the city’s historical sites and the Panama Canal’s Miraflores Locks. The excursion begins with a 30-minute drive to the Miraflores Locks, where visitors can observe the massive vessels navigating the Panama Canal. The busiest times are from 9 am to 11 am and from 2 pm to 5 pm, providing ample opportunity to witness ships being raised or lowered 16 meters in two distinct stages. Guests will enjoy the view from a sheltered terrace while listening to the guide’s explanations. The visit to the Canal is completed with a tour of the Museum and Visitor Center at Miraflores, offering insights into the Canal’s construction, a marvel of engineering. Visitors will also learn about the canal’s history, its importance to Panama and global trade, and the current expansion project.
- Panama La Vieja - The Old Panama Ruins. Panama Viejo was the first European settlement on the Pacific coast of the Americas. This initial Panama City was plundered and destroyed by the infamous English buccaneer Henry Morgan in 1671, leading to its abandonment. Today, only ruins remain, yet the tower of the ancient cathedral still stands and has become a town landmark.
- Casco Viejo - Casco Viejo, Panama City’s colonial quarter, transports visitors back in time as they admire the charming colonial houses, narrow streets, and impressive churches.
- Amador Causeway (Calzada de Amador) - The tour continues to Amador Causeway, a road connecting three islands in the Pacific Ocean, offering stunning views of the Canal on one side and the Panama City skyline on the other.
