Here, you can survey the remnants of churches, convents, colonial palaces, bridges and military edifices that bear witness to this city’s illustrious history. As we ensue with this captivating introduction to Panama, the second leg of your tour brings you traipsing through the lanes of the “Old French Quarter of Panama City”, set up in 1673 by French settlers. We’ll then continue along the coastal route to El Casco Antiguo, where stories of bravery and piracy are woven into the fabric of the narrow alleys of Colonial Panama, or Casco Antiguo as it’s known. During a relaxed hour-long stroll, you will observe the city’s transformation manifest in its distinct architecture, a beautiful fusion of French, Spanish and Italian elements. Following the guided walk, you are allotted an hour to unfurl your own explorations.
