Totally customized to you! - From bookings months ago until getting dropped off at a request near our hotel, everything was amazing. Sorhay makes it all about whatever you want and doesn't skimp or make you feel rushed. She was a perfect host. All the food was delicious and suited are culinary interests...and hubs and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to food. Highly recommend!

Panama Off the Beaten Path - I’ve been to over 34 countries and this is one of the best tours I’m been on. Period. Sorhay completely customized the day for us and gave us a glimpse into the real Panama City beyond Casco Viejo. Dim Sum. Afro Panamanian oxtail. Local churros. Places we would have never found ourselves. We mentioned local beers and she pulled over to a chino so we could try them ourselves. She even showed us the Panama Canal and helped us find some sloths. If you love food and going off the beaten path, this tour is for you.

Amazing. You are lucky if you get on this tour. - Amazing tour. Book it now. The most expensive tour we booked in Panama and we would (will) do it again. Worth every dime. We did the food tour. Sorhay asked questions to get to know us and understand what we like. We started the day stopping for coffee where Sorhay gave us options of what she thought we would like based on our conversations. It was like Choose Your Own Adventure books building a curated tour you love. The first coffee stop I had no idea there are coffee tasting cups that make Geisha coffee taste different depending on the cup shape. Already ordered some for the house. Then we had a great Panamanian breakfast. After that we drove around while Sorhay explained what we were seeing. Tried a different ceviche with apples and mayo that was fun. Went to a fruit market to taste fruit we never heard of. Lots of fun to try the different flavors. Then we headed to neighborhood we would not have found on our own to try oxtail and bacalao with coconut rice and beans. It was excellent. We were the only tourist in the area. Next we had fabulous chicharrones at a nice restaurant and saw the fancy part of Panama City. We ended the tour with a cocktail at an adorable coffee bar/cocktail lounge. For us it was the perfect curated day. Thank you Sorhay! We will be back. To top all of this off, Sorhay made us a video of our day so we can remember it. Had I known Sorhay at the start of our trip I would have booked all our different tours through her. Do yourself a favor and book with The Real Panama Tours. Sorhay will curate the tour to fit you and it will be amazing.

Absolutely amazing! Do. This. Tour. - Sorhay was an INCREDIBLE GUIDE. This is basically a private tour centered around food, but you can also customize it however you want. Want to see a sloth? Okay. Want to see the Old Panama ruins? Okay. Sorhay’s EXTENSIVE knowledge of Panama City means you can try the foods and experiences you want. She’ll get to know you. What you like. And give you options. Absolutely worth the cost. We had a lovely 5-6 hour experience. It’s also a good orientation to Panama City and its neighborhoods.

The absolute highlight of our trip to Panama City! - If you are thinking about booking this tour - seriously, just do it! You won’t regret it and the consistent 5-star reviews speak for themselves.
We spent our first full day in Panama City with Sorhay and our time with her was incredible in so many ways. We learned so much about the country and its amazing people, had the best conversation, and so much fun all day long. Oh yeah, and absolutely phenomenal food too! It felt like we were hanging out with our foodie friend that we’d known for years (and now Sorhay IS our foodie friend). I was a little worried about getting too full too fast but Sorhay is a pro and the pace of the day was just perfect.
We were picked up at our hotel, whisked around the city, and treated to one amazing experience after another. The cutest coffee shop I’ve ever seen? Check. Sloths? Check. Perfectly ripe and delicious fruit that I didn’t even know existed? Check. The most insane quail egg ceviche that I haven’t stopped thinking about since I tried it? Check. How about hand feeding watermelon to coatis along the side of the road?? Yep, did that too, plus so much more. We got to try so many different foods, from simple to complex, economical to extravagant, and everything in between. The wonderful experiences and memories made were a treasured bonus to the day.
I truly cannot imagine a better way to spend a day and when we go back to PTY, we will definitely book this tour again. Thank you Sorhay for such a perfect day.

Wow! Just wow! Book this tour! - If you are a foodie, BOOK THIS TOUR! Sorhay, our beloved guide, took time to learn our preferences, gave us some choices, and made spontaneous decisions when unexpected opportunities presented themselves. The list of foods we sampled at restaurants was long but included a flight of infused warm milk, avocado toast, filled churros to die for, sausage, beans and cheese, rice and beans with hot sauce so good it made the rice and beans dance on my plate, plantains, Panamanian potato salad, vegan ceviche (won’t spoil the surprise), oxtail, pork belly, a rum tasting, and artisan chocolates. We went to a top five restaurant, a cute spot for brunch, local neighborhood restaurants, and a restaurant in one of the poorer sections of town- it was delicious! Also loved the trip to the local farmers market - had fruits I’d never heard of! Best pineapple ever! Must close with a shoutout to Sorhay. Wow. Just wow. Smart, funny, knowledgeable about Panamá, excellent communication and people skills, and clearly loved by the many restaurant owners and vendors. She’s a treasure!

Incredible experience 10/10 - I knew when I saw that this experience had almost 50 reviews and ALL 5 stars that it was going to be good, but Sorhay really made it such a special and personalized experience. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Booked for my parents and I, and we were able to go all over Panamá City for food and for sloths! Took us to spots that we never would have found on our own, and got us out of Casco Viejo. Sorhay is such a kind and hardworking person, you won’t regret booking this food tour.

Most amazing experience!!! This is the ONLY tour you should consider! - We were blown away with our day spent with Sorhay - and I mean a full day! We left at 10am, and didn't get back to our place until 5:30. Her goal is to find out what you want and like, then to cater the day to that. She wants you to experience ALL that Panama is, from highs to lows, from fancy to the most basic. It was hard to find a subject that she wasn't knowledgeable about! She's funny, smart, but most of all she loves people and her country! I could go on and on...but all you need to know is you should book her company without hesitation!

Absolutely Fantastic and a Must-Do in Panama City - Soray was the consummate guide and country host. We expected a great food tour, based on other reviews, but our experience was so much more than that — and we raved for days about how amazing our 5 hours was. Sorhay has an incredible ease about her, complete familiarity of the city, neighborhood restauranteurs and vendors and an ability to quickly ascertain her guests preferences and build an all around unforgettable experience. We started our day, precisely on time, sampling the best churros we’ve ever had — at Manolo. Soray then worked her magic to secure us a fast early-lunch reservation at the #1 restaurant in Panama City — Maito. Before heading there for an amazing fresh fish and rice dish and outdoor dining we made a few stops to see sloths. They were everywhere! We hadn’t anticipated that our next stop at Sisu — a delightful, well-appointed coffee shop in Casco Viejo would give us an unforgettable coffee drinking experience. We learned about Geisha coffee — one of the most expensive in the world — and, enjoyed a cup that tasted like no other coffee we’ve ever had. It was absolutely delicious. Our next stop at Cantina del Tigre for an early afternoon lunch/dinner was utterly fantastic as we had front-row seating at the bar overlooking the chefs prepare traditional Panamanian food with a modern flair. The lychee ceviche is to die for. Soray kindly obliged us by taking us to a grocery store, at our request, because we love a good wander in food stores in every country we visit. She patiently waited for us while we grabbed a few items — including Panamanian chocolate — to bring home for gifts. We closed the tour at a great restaurant/bar where we enjoyed a Pedro Mandinga Rum tasting before Soray dropped us off at our hotel. We have done food/bev tours in many countries and this one, hands-down, is one of the best in no small part to Soray who was a fantastic guide perfectly attuned to us and making sure that our Panamanian experience was unforgettable.
