- Islas Ballestas - You will be met by our guide at 9:15am at San Martin Port, then you will be transferred to Paracas town, at this point you will meet the rest of the group and board our speedboat to begin your adventure to the stunning Ballestas Island. On the way you will stop at the Paracas Peninsula to see the enigmatic figure of the Candelabro. A stunning design drawn on the side of a hill in the Peninsula. Nobody knows for sure who did it or why. There are many hypotheses regarding its origin. Some believe it is related to the Nazca Lines but still found no proof or evidence that can define its creation. Afterwards will head off to Ballestas Island where you will enjoy a stunning world filled with birds and sea lions. Here you will visit the three islands at an allowed distance, navigating in some caves (this will be depending on the condition of the sea). On your return to the port, you will board our vehicle to drive towards Paracas Reserve in group. During your tour you will learn more about Paracas Reserve by visiting the interpretation centre, an interesting building that displays photos about all the fauna, flora and many others important facts about the Paracas Peninsula. Afterwards, we will drive throughout a lifeless desert till we reach an area where once stood a great natural rock formation known as the Cathedral. Unfortunately, this old formation did not withstand the 2007 earthquake. At this place you will have amazing views of the desert and the blue ocean and you will see thousands of sea birds, then you will visit Playa Roja and Lagunillas beach for some refreshments. At the end of the tour you will be return to San Martin Port to re-join your ship.

Olenka is the best!! - Olenka was an amazing tour guide both on the boat (in group) and in the reserve (private in car, driver Jorge was amazing as well. Very clean and comfortable car). Such a fun & informative experience. Thank you Las Adventure!!!

Paracas Highlights - Olinka our tour guide was amazing! This trip was a great value for the money. I was able to visit both the Ballastas Islands and the Paracas National Park during our stop. The cruise line only offered either one and was charging double the money.

Over all great tour! - They made it very easy went arriving by cruise ship. The boarding of the boat was a bit unorganized and we were nearly disconnected from the other 16 passengers on our tour. We had to be assertive to be with our group which was going on to a bus tour after the boat and was nearly loaded on a boat only going to the island tour. The step up out of the boat was nearly 2 feet high and my knee gave out so I was too injured to walk at the national park. They needed to add a step so the rise wasn't to extraordinarily high.

Book your trip with Paracas Explorer - Our cruise ship stopped in Paracas for one day. We wanted to see as much as possible in a short time. We booked the Ballestas Islands boat tour and National Reserve land tour with Paracas Explorer. Our guide, Abigail, on the boat tour was excellent. She knew all about the birds and animals that we saw. Her english was excellent. Manuel, our guide on the land tour, was also excellent. His knowledge of the unique area, its history and role in early cultures made for a fascinating tour. His english was also excellent.

Island wildlife and desert exploration - This was a fantastic tour we left from Paracas and went out on a boat to to look at the NASCAR candelabra on the side of the hill which is the only ocean facing symbol in Peru and then we went and saw penguins seals birds many many species of birds it was lovely. We came back to shore and then headed out to the desert. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained so much and made the desert come alive.

To see Ballestas and Paracas, this is perfect. - I really enjoyed this tour. The only complaint I have is the amount of time we waited to get on the boat. It was super crowded and I'm not sure how that can be fixed. BUT, the tour was great! I was super impressed with the captain's boating skills. The islands were great! Saw all the animals they advertise and even 6 Humboldt penguins!!! That was a great suprise. The bus part of the tour took us to some really great viewpoints and our guide answered every question. Thank you!

Ballistas Islands good, skip the Paracas Reserve - We enjoyed the speed boat ride with 49 of our friends, to see the Candlelabra, penguins, sea lions and a variety of birds. Remember to use the restroom before departing. The boat ride is about one and a half hours (50 cents /person to use). The Paracas Reserve should have been dropped. Nothing to see in the desert.

Not recommended. - The company that ran the trip said that they had emailed us to start the trip at 8:00am instead of 9:15 which. Trip was not organized well.

Ripped Off - I contacted the tour operator a couple days prior to the date of the excursion as I was not completely sure where we were meeting. I gave him the name of the ship and our arrival time and received some time later an assurance that we would be met in the port. As it turned out, private tour operators are not allowed in the port, so we had to take a bus to the main entrance. When I arrived, I sent a message via WhatsApp to let him know we were there. No response. I sent another. No response. I tried a phone call. No answer. By now we had met about eight other people who had booked with the same tour operator. None of them had been able to make contact. I message Viator and asked them to call the operator. They had no response either. Viator should be ashamed for allowing this person to operate. Avoid this tour at all costs!
