A Morning of Anticipation

The sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon as I found myself in Paradera, ready to embark on the Arikok Jeep Tour. Our adventure began with a local breakfast snack called “Pastechi” at a charming family shack. The flaky pastry filled with savory goodness was the perfect fuel for the day. With our bellies satisfied, we hopped into the jeep, ready to tackle the off-road trails of Arikok National Park. The anticipation of what was to come was palpable, and I could feel the thrill of adventure coursing through my veins.

Exploring the Heart of Arikok

As we entered Arikok National Park, the landscape transformed into a mesmerizing blend of volcanic formations, coral reefs, and desert terrains. Our first stop was the iconic Natural Pool, a hidden gem surrounded by black volcanic rocks. The sight of the waves crashing into the pool was nothing short of breathtaking. Next, we ventured to the Indian Caves, where ancient drawings by the island’s first inhabitants adorned the walls. At the Fontein Cave, I indulged in a wild fish pedicure, letting the tiny fish nibble at my toes—a quirky and delightful experience that added a touch of whimsy to the day.

Our journey through Arikok National Park culminated with a visit to Dos Playa, two stunning beaches separated by a rocky outcropping. The white sand and turquoise waters were a sight to behold, and though the sea was too rough for swimming, the beauty of the place was enough to leave me in awe.

The final leg of our adventure took us to Baby Beach, a serene spot perfect for snorkeling and soaking in the sun. As I floated in the gentle waves, I couldn’t help but reflect on the day’s journey.
