Overlooking Omaha Beach, the cemetery contains 9,387 U.S. soldiers’ graves, most of whom died during the Normandy Landings, and the Wall of the Missing with 1,557 names. The cliffs contain remnants of German defenses, including concrete casemates with memorials. The cemetery features the “Spirit of American Youth Rising from the Waves” sculpture, large military operation maps, and beautiful gardens. Overlord Museum - Omaha Beach - 16:45 - 17:30 Visit the Overlord Museum, located a few hundred meters from the Normandy American Cemetery. The museum houses many WWII artifacts and installations, including tanks, weapons, military vehicles, a V-1 missile, and personal belongings, providing a personal perspective on D-Day. 17:30 Departure for Paris, a 3.5-hour drive (290 km) with a rest stop.
