Patriarche Père et Fils - 09:30 - 10:45 Wine tasting with a professional sommelier of Burgundy wines in the cellars of Patriarche Père et Fils. The Caves Patriarche, located in the center of Beaune, feature 5 kilometers of tunnels, making it one of the largest cellars in Burgundy. Lyon - 08:00 Departure from Lyon to Orange, covering 200 km on the highway in about 2 hours.

Roman Theatre of Orange - 10:00 - 11:00 Arrive in Orange and visit the Roman Theatre, built in the early 1st century AD and home to the summer opera festival, the Chorégies d’Orange. It is one of the best-preserved Roman theatres, offering free entertainment to all citizens in ancient Rome. In 1981, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List for its outstanding preservation and architecture. Depart for Avignon at 11:00 (30 km, about half an hour).

Chateauneuf-du-Pape - 11.15 - 12:15 Stop at Châteauneuf-du-Pape for wine tasting on the way to Avignon.

Avignon - 12:30 - 13:30 Avignon walking tour. Avignon, the unofficial capital of Provence, is located on the left bank of the Rhône River with a population of nearly 100,000. About 16,000 residents live in the ancient town center, enclosed by medieval walls. Avignon is one of the few French cities that has preserved its city walls. Between 1309 and 1377, during the Avignon Papacy, seven successive popes resided in Avignon. In 1348, Pope Clement VI bought the town from Joanna I of Naples. Papal control persisted until 1791 when it became part of France during the French Revolution. The historical center, including the Palais des Papes, the cathedral, and the Pont d’Avignon, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. Constructed in less than 20 years starting in 1335, the Popes’ Palace combines two palaces built by Popes Benedict XII and Clement VI. Pont du Gard — Nîmes — Arles

Pont du Gard - 09:00 Departure from Avignon to Pont du Gard, approximately 30 km. Visit Pont du Gard from 09:30 - 11:00. The Pont du Gard is an ancient Roman aqueduct bridge built in the first century AD to carry water over 50 km to the Roman colony of Nîmes. It is the highest of all Roman aqueduct bridges and one of the best-preserved. It was added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage sites in 1985 for its exceptional preservation, historical importance, and architectural ingenuity. Depart for Nîmes at 11:00, taking about 30 minutes (23 km).

Nimes - 11:30 - 12:30 Walking tour of Nîmes. Located about 50 km from Avignon, Nîmes has an estimated population of about 150,000. Nîmes has a rich history dating back to the Roman Empire when it was a regional capital with 50,000 to 60,000 inhabitants. Famous monuments in Nîmes include the Arena of Nîmes and the Maison Carrée.
