Excellent private tour of Normandy - Our tour guide, Gilles, gave us an up close tour of the Normandy beaches , memorials, and the cemetery. We climbed into a bunker. He is extremely knowledgeable. Gilles shared many wonderful stories and maps about D Day including the preparation for the attack, why the troops came to Normandy and what happened from there. We had a great time.

Great experiences with Finding France - This company is excellent. We did 5 private tours. Candice was very helpful establishing the itinerary and handling the business transactions. Driver Our driver was Augustin. He is awesome. Comfortable rides, pleasant conversation, and he detoured from direct routes to show us added sights in Paris. The Lourve This place is huge and impossible to see in 4 hours. We went back on our own. Our guide was Vincent. He is very knowledgeable but new at guiding and his English is slow. Frankly this visit was too short, I would either find a full day guide or saved the rest of the day for a self guided tour. Instead we planned an afternoon in Montmartre. Montmartre Vincent was our guide again, this is a walking tour. Vincent was very helpful with historical context for the sights. Beautiful views of Paris. Most folks visit this area on their own but no doubt miss many details. This was worth the investment. Normandy Our guide and driver this day was Gilles. There simply is no way to overstate the quality of this tour or how awesome Gilles is as a guide. He is knowledgeable, respectful, interesting, and easy to understand. His plan for the day, including rest stops, and lunch stop were perfect. Every American should visit Normandy and the American Cemetery. When you go arrange the tour through Finding France and ask for Gilles. Rearrange your travel if need be for his availability. This was my bucket list item, my wife was less enthusiastic about spending a day doing this. We were on a 21 day vacation touring three countries and taking more the a dozen guided tours. She declared this the best day, best guide and best experience. So, if you go to Paris take this tour, ask for Gilles and enjoy. (PS: if you have a relative buried in the cemetery let Gilles know, there are special experiences available. I cannot overemphasize how respectful Gilles is, that enhances the total experience but would be particularly beneficial for a person with a relative in the cemetery) Giverny Lucia was the guide. Excellent guide, good English and very knowledgeable. This is a fantastic place to visit and greatly enhanced with the stories and context Lucia provided. Versailles Lucia also guided this visit. Versailles is huge, particularly the gardens but Lucia did a great job giving us an overview of the gardens with visits to key features and her knowledge in the palace was invaluable. Overall Finding France is an excellent company. Their guides are knowledgeable, polite, on time and make the experiences valuable. I will use them again on future visits. I have visited six continents, used guides dozens of times. Often guides hired for me by people who wanted to impress. Gilles is without question the best guide I ever been assigned or hired. Period.

Normandy Tour - What a wonderful trip! It was rainy the whole time, but Clément and Louis made the trip very easy. The best part was the obvious passion Clément has for the events of June 6th 1944 and the allied liberation of France. We can’t wait to book another tour the next time we are in Paris.

Day trip to D-Day memorial in Normandy - The tour was perfect! Gilles gave us such a range of history, I learned so much! The drive from Paris was 3.5 hr, which made it 7 hr of driving total. The stops on the tour were all well planned. If I had one, small negative, I would've liked to spend a little more time at Omaha beach. Overall, a very pleasant trip that I highly recommend!

Do yourself a favor, don’t miss this tour with Gilles! - For a roughly 12 hr day, it flew by. Our guide, Gilles, made the long drive interesting with his storytelling and educational buildup. Having a guide was most helpful with visiting the various sites and knowing exactly where to go and how to efficiently move through the day. So many touching and heart warming moments. The food was delicious at our lunch at L’Ephemere, but the history of the family owned castle was just as impressive. Ending the day at the American Cemetery was emotional. Gilles shared many facts we wouldn’t have known walking around on our own. It was an insightful and moving day made entertaining by Gilles’s friendliness and humor. The tour exceeded our expectations, thanks Gilles!

A must see tour of the sacrifice 10,000s of young Americans made. - Gilles, our tour guide, was excellent. He gave us a lot of history using maps and flip carts on our drive from Paris to Omaha Beach and all throughout the day. Once on the beach we realized how long it was and the enormity of it at low tide. At Pointe du Hoc we realized that the cliffs were 175' high with Germans firing machine guns down to the beach slaughtering our boys as they hit the beach. Our visit to the American Cemetery was heart wrenching to see all the young Americans who died at Normandy to keep all of us speaking German today.

Great trip to Normandy! - Gilles was extremely knowledgeable about the events leading up to the Normandy invasion and afterwards. His English was excellent so we could understand him easily. We visited the sites listed and because we were a private tour of two we could manage the time as needed for the different sites. Went to a lovely place for lunch L’Empherere(?) Comfortable Merecedes SUV. Would use him and Viator again.

D-Day visit from Paris - Agnes was an amazing guide-personable, knowledgeable, helpful, and fun to spend the day with. Her insights into D-Day helped us understand what the Allies went through and added to our experience.
