- La Rhumerie - A stop inside this Rum House that’s existed since 1932, founded by Joseph Louville, a Caribbean man from Martinique and still owned by his family to this day.
- Bookstore Presence Africaine - Présence Africaine started as a pan-African quarterly cultural, political, and literary magazine, published in Paris and founded by Alioune Diop in 1947. In 1949 it expanded to a publishing house and bookstore. Influential in the Pan-Africanist movement, the decolonization struggle of former French colonies, and the birth of the Négritude movement, we will step inside and explore it’s rich history.
- Pantheon - The famous French mausoleum which celebrates the lives of prominent French figures, was originally built to be a church. We’ll take in the view from the outside while highlighting those of African descent that are buried and/or recognized here, as well as French abolitionists.
- 14 Rue Monsieur le Prince - The address of Richard Wright’s Apartment in Paris marked by a plaque on the building.
- Pigalle - We’ll walk through the neighborhood that became the extension of the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s and 30s. With a large amount of jazz clubs and black owned businesses started by African Americans living in the city, we’ll take note on some of the most notable locations.
- KEUR : OBJETS ET DÉCORATION AFRICAINE. - A gateway between Dakar and Paris, Keur - or “house” in Wolof - offers a selection of authentic and colorful decorative objects and home accessories, entirely made in Senegal.
- Château Rouge - Chateau Rouge aka Little Africa, is a vibrant and diverse neighborhood with shops and food market that serves Paris’s African population. We’ll visit some of the stores, and shop around as we discuss the history of the neighborhood and get a chance to speak with locals within the neighborhood.
- BMK Paris-Bamako - We’ll share a meal at the end of the day at one of the best African restaurants in paris, BMK. If you’ve never had food from the countries of Mali or Senegal, you’re in for a treat.

As we traverse through the 5th and 6th arrondissements, we’ll visit a multitude of historical locations before heading to the Pigalle district. Here, we uncover how the area once got the…
We start with a free French breakfast at Les Deux Magots cafe in Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, a favorite of renowned authors like James Baldwin and Richard Wright. As we traverse through the 5th and 6th arrondissements, we’ll visit a multitude of historical locations before heading to the Pigalle district. Here, we uncover how the area once got the label ‘Black Montmartre’. Of course, no Black Paris tour is complete without a trip to the area known as Little Africa—Chateau Rouge, famous for its plethora of shops and businesses.
We’ll provide you with an Unlimited Metro Pass for traveling to places not reachable by foot. Ultimately, our tour ends with a succulent dinner at one of the city’s top African restaurants, where we can discuss and share our best experiences of the day (Meal Not Included In Price).
