Amazing trip with excellent Guide!! - Very well informed and educated Guide who provided an excellent historical overview of Fontainebleau. Far less crowded than Versailles and just as opulent. Well worth the trip!

Outrageously priced for the value - Party of 6 paid $1600 for $132 worth of metro tickets plus entrance fees. What we got for our money was a “personal” shepherd to lead us through the connections. Our guide read from the room placards and Google to provide any information. Two of our party left and rented the audio guide! Spontaneous narrative was often erroneous (Josephine died and Napoleon remarried, Josephine and Napoleon had the son that died). I had arranged this tour based on Trip advisor reviews; I am too embarrassed to ask my group to reimburse me! Our guide, while well meaning, mentioned that he was an apprentice and had failed his guide exams twice. Why were we the practice group and at such an outrageous price?
