Highlights
  • Fondation Claude Monet - This half-day trip will lead you to the edge of Normandy, where you will visit the idyllic home of Claude Monet. There, get a Skip-the-Line Access as you enter into the garden with your guide by the special small group entrance!

You will have the opportunity to discover the precious collection of Japanese engravings is displayed in several rooms, hung in the marmer chosen by the master of Giverny himself. Claude Monet’s property at Giverny, left by his son to the Académie des Beaux-arts in 1966, has, after completion of large scale restoration work, become the Claude Monet Foundation, inaugurated in 1980. The huge Nymphéas studio, a stone’s throw from the house, has also been restored and contains the Foundation’s Shop.

  • The Clos Normand - Fondation Claude Monet - You will also enjoy time in the gardens which have been replanted as they once were and offer visitors the “painting from nature” which Claude Monet’s contemporaries considered to be one of his masterpieces. The rectangular Clos Normand, with archways of climbing plants entwined around brilliantly coloured shrubs, lies before the house and studios, offering from Spring to Autumn the palette of varying colours to the painter-gardner who was “ecstatic about flowers”.
  • The Clos Normand - Fondation Claude Monet - Lastly, the Water Garden, formed by a tributary of the Epte, lies further away, shaded by weeping willows. With its famous Japanese Bridge, its wistarias, azaleas and its pond, it has once more become that casket of sky and water which inspired the pictorial universe of the water lilies.
  • Giverny - Take a walk in the village of Giverny. Enjoy an ice cream, have a drink or look for souvenirs to take home.

Visiting the Giverny the easy way - Fabrice was an awesome tour guide. Pickup spot was convenient to the metro. We had a wonderful time at Giverny and were pleased we could skip the long line at the entrance. The gardens and home were gorgeous. We had plenty of time to visit, take photos and visit the gift shop. Added bonus for me was visiting the Orsay the next day to see Monet’s paintings inspired by Giverny.

Amazing tour, strongly recommend - My daughter (9 yr) and I had a wonderful time. The tour was on time, the van clean and comfortable. Cold water was available as well. The tour guide Philippe was knowledgeable, friendly and was genuinely interested in what he showed and told us. Although Giverny was crowded, we had an amazing tour of the gardens and the house learning a lot about Monet. Gorgeous day, would recommend anyone to book this trip!

Beautiful Monet Day! - Michelle was excellent guide! History of Monet on drive there as well as surrounding areas. We were taken straight to the entrance and shown where to go and what to expect. It was so much better than expected! Such a beautiful experience with plenty of time to soak it all in and take lots of beautiful pictures!!! We also had plenty of time to stroll through village to church where Monet was buried. Beautiful weather made it more special!!!

Fun tour with independent exploration - We loved our trip! Our guide was so kind and accommodating. We liked that the tour was a bit less structured. You WANT to spend your time freely walking through the Gardens and the house. Mat(?) gave us great insights on the ride over, set us free to do our thing, and then navigated us back. Highly recommend.

Great place, no tour - The only con is that this experience doesn't include any kind of tour of the house and garden. Once you're there, you're free to explore and once told to meet back up at a certain time. Pros: you get to skip the line which is huge as this had possibly the longest line I saw, even longer than the louvre. The transport is pretty handy if like me, you don't drive and the house and garden is beautiful

Beautiful gardens, get a better guide. - The gardens are spectacular! The colors were beautiful. We were disappointed in our guide. He didn’t share at all during the drive. He only spoke for 5 to 10 minutes when we arrived. I would have enjoyed more history. Oliver looked like he was not happy to be there. He was abrupt.

Started wrong but ended beautifully! - Monet's garden in Giverny was a very magnificent place. But to get there, the group need to meet at a starting point. This was a problem. You sent me to a wrong place. I used Viator service in Lisbon, Portugal successfully and did not hesitate to sign up. The organizer told me, they told Viator that there is only one meeting place. You offered a choice of two places. This should be corrected. Luckily, I started early enough and was able to join the group in time. But it was very stressful several hours taking a new subway line and changing the line etc. But at the end, I saw one of the most beautiful gardens in the world!
