Highlights
  • Le Marais - Start by understanding the historic importance of the Marais, which once laid beyond the center of Paris. Today, it is at the heart of the city. Discover the Church of Saint Paul and Saint Louis before walking through the courtyard of the majestic Hotel de Sully. Continue experiencing the royal history of the Marais by exploring the pristine Place des Vosges, a public square with unparalleled beauty in Paris. Afterwards, move forward in time to learn all about the bustling Jewish community that put the Marais on the map through the 18th and 19th centuries. Wander the bakeries and boutiques of the Pletzl before strolling the shop-laden rue des Francs Bourgeois. All the while you’ll discover mansion after mansion, former homes to the nobility that once called the Marais home. Some are now museums, like the highly worthwhile Musée Carnavalet. The tour may also introduce you to both the Hotel de Ville, or City Hall, and the Pompidou Center, both architectural masterpieces from very different periods.

Le marais district tour - We toured the le marais area with Francois. He was excellent. He knew so much like a historian! and had so many stories that kept us interested and entertained. Our tour included area architecture and tremendous amount of Jewish and le marais history. We also learned so much about the nobility in the area from centuries ago too. highly recommend.

Exceptional walking tours with Babylon in Paris. - We actually took three tours through Babylon. And they were all exceptional. This review is about our tour of the Louvre with our guide Florence and our tour of Le Maray with Francois. Both guides were amazing. Florence was a walking encyclopedia of art history and her passion for art shined through. Francois was the most exuberant, lively, funny guide who brought the Maray district to life!!! I really can’t say enough good things about this tour company!!!

So Glad We Went!! - First of all our guide Francois was a 10 plus. The guide is the most important part of any tour and I am glad we had him. The 2 1/2 hours were filled with tons of information concerning the Jewish history in Paris and the quarters we were touring. The group was supposed to be no more than 8 people and we only had 4 since 3 people no showed. After having had tours with 30 people this size group is perfect. No electronics are needed to hear the guide and there was a more intimate feel. If you have a morning to do something different I highly recommend this tour.

Great Tour - We had an amazing tour with Tamari. She covered many different topics talking about Marais - its history, stories, and added a lot of color to everything we saw. We covered so much during the tour - we would never be able to do it on our own. We strongly recommend this tour, Tamari and to add a few extra hours after the tour to explore Marais’s shops and cafes..
