Your guide will discuss the history and architectural features of this renowned castle, constructed between 1519 and 1547 by Francis I. Celebrated for its French Renaissance style, the castle includes 440 rooms, 282 fireplaces, and 84 staircases. A highlight is the double-spiral staircase, possibly designed by Leonardo da Vinci, where two spirals ascend without intersecting.

Using a Histopad, your guide will narrate the history of this magnificent 15th-century castle, a prime example of the transition from Gothic to Renaissance architecture. Learn about its role as the birthplace of princes, the residence of kings, and the final resting place of Leonardo da Vinci, who passed away here in 1519.
