An amazing day visiting Loire castles - It was a very fruitful day visiting three of the most iconic castles of Loire valley. Our tour guide Augustin drove as carefully to every place, planned accurately the visit and told the stories of all the places visited. The wine tasting was a gem. I will remember this special day and I definitely suggest by all means this tour. Thanks for the experience.

French History and the Chateaus - We had a smooth ride to the Loire Valley. The Blue Fox Travel guide was excellent in driving us to the chateaus and gave us a history overview of the French monarchs and the chateaus. The wine tasting was very good…it was a wonderful experience

Roam to your hearts delight - We really enjoyed this tour. The guide gave us a nice introduction to each chateau, gave us the site guide and set us free to explore each place. The tour allows for 1.5 to 2.5 hours at each location. We loved that we could explore each chateau at our own pace, rather than be stuck with the group and struggle to hear the guide. We felt like we had the right amount of time at each location. We even got to see where Leonardo Da Vinci is buried - an extra added treat.

A good day of learning about history and buildings as memorials - We enjoyed a great day viewing three chateaux and hearing of the history and some stories behind them. However, we felt that the last visit of the day was a bit disappointing due to the emptiness of the huge building and property. However, it did highlight the excesses of royalty and nobility of previous eras. A long, but enjoyable day

Looong day but good tour. - Overall the tour was good. It needs to be noted the drive to and from Paris will be about 2 to 2 1/2 hours each way, making for a very long day. You visit 3 Chateaus, the guide will give you and introduction and time to explore. The only downside is with the travel time, your time at each location is limited to an hour to an hour and a half. With that in mind, consider this more of a taster than an in-depth experience. Personally I could have done without the wine tasting, which is done at a wine shop and a little more time in the Chateaus. That all said, it inspired us to put a longer trip to the Loire area on the future plans list.

Chateaus beautiful - more info needed - We enjoyed the three Chateaus we visited (Chenenceau, Amboise, Chambord). They were very interesting & beautiful in different ways. We would have liked more information on the castles while we were driving rather than such a short overview when we arrived. Also we felt like the audio systems should have been included (unless you know they are not worth it and you could tell us that). Also we spent too much time on the Napoleon exhibit in Chenenceaux and then did not have enough time for the rest of the castle. At Chambord we were told to concentrate on the “right” side but once you are inside directions are extremely confusing and we did not know which way to go. The materials provided by the castle were even more confusing. Our guide was delightful and we enjoyed seeing the castles.

Long day from Paris - Long day. Would have preferred a train out from Paris to join up with a van tour. It was a rainy day and our driver was not cautious. Some tour members tried to get her to slow down. We passed 99% of the cars on the freeway weaving across lanes in pouring conditions in a van. Wasn’t very comfortable. The guide was knowledgeable but on these tours does not enter the castles with you. Would prefer a guided tour inside. The lunch stop in Amboise is very nice. We enjoyed some great food and chocolate….lots of options there
